Need recommendation on FLASH program

I am looking for a program that will easily allow me to create a Flash banner. All I want is to create a banner that has about 4 images fading in and out and some animated text over top. I should think this would be super easy but I am trying to find a software program to do it and I am coming up with either stuff that's way too complex or software that can't do it. Do you know of any program that would help me? (It doesn't need to be free, I can spend up to 100 USD on it).

Who does the voiceover for those "Congratulations, you've been selected..." banners and how do I get in touch with her? I wish to procure her services. You know the voice. You're innocently surfing the web one day and BAM! "Congratulations, you've been selected to receive two free iPod nanos." Whoever she is, I need to find her. Why, you ask? I want her to record my voicemail greeting. It would go something like this:

"Congratulations, you've been selected to leave a message for Jack Cheng."

Some sleuthing revealed that the banners are hosted by LiquidMedia Networks, but my attempts to contact them have been for naught. Help me MeFi, you're my only hope.

I don't wanna buy or learn Flash. Please help me avoid having to.

Can you please help a Flash idiot (me) do what ought to be a fairly simple task? I know nothing about Flash, and I've been perfectly happy that way. But now, I need to create what I think is a very simple graphic, and sure could use some help: Three images, identical dimensions. Shown one after another, X number of seconds delay between them, endless looping. Each image links to a different URL. Snazzy transitions a must.

Do I need to go out and buy a full version of Flash for this? God, I hope not. Is there some simple way to accomplish this?

Ballpark Figures for Internet Advertising Revenue?

What are the approximate income/pageview rates for the most popular type of online advertising? I know there will be quite a few variables here, but I'm just looking for ballpark figures. If I have 1,000 hits a month, for example, and start running Google ads what can I expect? Now what if I have 10,000 hits? 100,000 hits? etc.

I am most interested in:

1. Google Text Ads
2. Banner Ads
3. Full Site Makeover (like some of the gossip sites occasionally do for a new movie/tv show).

I am trying to design a banner for a public library web site. I find that all the banners I design are too retro-looking. Kind of 1950s, Alvin Lustig or Saul Bass inspired. Cute, but they don't seem to represent a forward-thinking, technology-oriented library. I am looking for examples of banners that might inspire me, and I am hoping you all might have some suggestions. Also, any elements you think I should try to include or try to avoid. This banner will be seen by tens of thousands of people, and will be the "face" of the library online. Links to examples of what you think works and why it works would be much appreciated. I had no idea that I would have such a hard time with this; I just don't seem to get 2007 design! Thanks.

Amongst my many other web properties, I run a small blog with pictures of pretty naked people, and I'm looking to ad some nonintrusive banners to the design. Does anyone have any experience with the various providers of such services? Which are reputable, which are not? For context, I would use google adsense if they didn't have an issue with NSFW sites. Not looking for obnoxious popunderjavascript crapola, as this is not my main source of revenue.

Can anyone recommend a good custom flag or banner maker?

Can anyone recommend a good custom flag or banner maker? I've got this big empty area on my living room wall, and I think it'd be cool to hang a custom flag on it. I have a few different ideas for flags to hang, and I imagine I'd hang a different one every month or so. For example, off the top of my head, I was thinking of a Strong Badia flag and a Slayer flag. I can get a Slayer flag, but the Strong Badia flag would have to be custom.

Google yields a lot of results for online flag and banner makers, most of which are a bit too costly. Has anyone had experience with any of them? Can you recommend one, preferably one that makes flags with grommets in them?

Help me reduce the file size for Adobe ImageReady CS animated gif. I was asked to create an animated email banner in either gif or jpeg, at 468x60 pixels and only 15 kB, looping three times only. I created a layered Photoshop file with one image and some text layers (all 72 dpi). As this is my first time using ImageReady, I am getting a file that is ten times larger than needed (156 kB). My attempts at "optimization" and whatnot have proven fruitless. Anyone care to assist me and get this thing wrangled down to 15 k?

Where can I find good free banners for my website? Preferably ones with a nature theme, or a metropolitan theme (preferably related to San Francisco). I am creating a small site which is far from complete. But one thing I need is a new banner for the top of the page there. The ones I have found online through my google-fu are less than inspiring. Who knows of some good places to find free banners?

A different kind of fencepost problem

Stuctural-engineering filter: I need some help figuring out requirements for a temporary art installation that needs to stand up to the wind. The installation will resemble a fence made of T-posts and panels of vinyl banner material. Each panel will be approximately 2 m square (I have some flexibility on this), and will be supported by T-posts left and right, held to it by zip-ties through grommetted holes at 60 cm intervals. I'll be cutting slits in the panels to allow some wind to pass through, but it needs to be able to stand up to 60 kph winds. My questions are:

1. How deeply do the T-posts need to be sunk into the ground?
2. Can I double-up panels on T-posts, so a single T-post is supporting panels on both sides, or should each T-post be holding up only one side of one panel?
3. Another way to approach #2 is this: below a certain panel size, I could double up (I imagine). What is that size? I'm interested in minimizing the time and effort it will take to set all these T-posts.

I'll be grateful for any other suggestions along these lines. I've thought about anchoring the T-posts with cables and stakes front and rear, but site considerations make that impractical, and I am hoping it would be unnecessary.

Help me find a javascript for selecting an image at random, and then some corresponding text lower down on the page. I am making a webpage with several different versions of the main header graphic, each by a different artist. Every time the page loads, I want one of these images to load at random. Well beyond the header, down near the bottom of the sidebar, I want to credit the artist in question - ie, put some text and a link, corresponding to whichever image was loaded.

Put another way, I want something that generates the following code:

[then, much later on the page:]

header graphic by image1_artist.

Can anyone point me to - or devise - a javascript that will allow me to do this? I've looked at this AskMeFi question, and am currently using A List Apart's Better Rotator, but that doesn't allow me to do the other half of what I want.

How do I make a banner that expands over text in Flash? I got the Ad Kit from Macromedia's site, but I'm not sure that this is going to work without having DoubleClick DART. I need a tutorial or a .fla file that I can work from. Or just advice on what to do. Thanks!

TRAX and Banner

My wife is wanting to apply for a job as a Technical Consultant. She's pretty tech-savvy but the job description says they're looking for someone who can make "effective use of TRAX and Banner." Has anyone ever heard of these? I assume they're database management software, but my Google and Wikipedia search returned nothing! Also, any ideas on how to teach herself the software?

Creating Little Buttons/Banners for Blogs

I have a feeling that somewhere online is a place where I can easily create those little buttons (or banners or whatever they are called) that live at the corners of everyone's blogs. If you don't know what I'm talking about, click here for an example. What I'm imagining is a site where I can put in my text, select colors, then quickly create one of these. I'm sure I could do it in Photoshop, but the little tool I'm imagining seems so likely to exist that I thought I'd start by asking here. By the way, what DO you call those little things?

We-based Advertising Rates

Are there 'standard' rates for text and banner advertisements? Are there any generally accepted pricing guidelines? Is there a formula a webmaster can use to determine how much they should charge for banners or text ads? What about exclusivity? (More Inside) One of my websites (a relatively new one) is starting to take off. Although the traffic is low, it is being linked to from popular sites, traffic is steadily increasing and search engine position is improving. It is highly focused.

A company (which makes a product much desired by my highly focused audience) has contacted me for advertising rates and they want exclusive banners (i.e. I would no longer be able to accept any banner advertising from other companies in the same line of business).

I have no idea what to charge them and Google didn't turn anything up. Does anyone know of any pricing standards, guidelines or general rules regarding banner advertising or text ads? Anyone have any experience in this area? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

P.S. I would prefer to charge per month rather than per impression or click-through. Is that generally accepted or will that be a problem?
