I received a mix-tape a while ago with a really great band on it that I can't find. I'm pretty sure they're called "Album," and I think the song was called "hormigas." The song was quite bleak and beautiful and I think it was sung in Spanish. It sounded a little post-rockish.

I heard music that I really liked at a pub the other day, and am hoping someone can help me identify it. I have very little information but am hoping the fact that it seemed I was listening to tracks on an album might help. Genre is alternative-ish. (notmany)More details inside.

Where does one find bands to hire for events? I'm talking about any type of band here, mariachi, swing, cover, etc. I'm looking to hire bands for my school's upcoming school year but since I'm not local to the area I'm having trouble. The school is in Trenton, NJ.

Anyone know of any websites created to promote unsigned/unknown bands? Something preformatted where you can display a few pictures, a schedule of upcoming gigs, maybe a paypal link to sell your CD, etc. Hopefully with your own link (i.e. http://website.com/myband that can be printed on flyers, etc. Free is always great, very low cost is okay. I'm trying to help a local wedding/bar band that is NOT net-savvy or flush with cash.

Help me remember a song, out around 1995 or 1996. It was by a rock band with a male singer. Haunting, sort of creepy voice. The thing I most remember was the music video. It featured a girl in her apartment, and a creepy/stalkerish but handsome guy going up the to her apartment. She answered the door, and then it ends up with a slow speed chase up to the roof, where I the music video ends in sort of a cliff hanger. It was a tall apartment building, with an elevator. The male singer was shown on screen in cut ins throughout the music video. I think the singer was shown to be in the elevator, but not interacting with the woman or her stalker.
I can sort of remember one line of lyrics, sort of along the lines:
I only sleep at night, surrounded by my lies.
And for some reason I think the name of the band had the name of elements in it, but that might be totally spurious. Also, I think this was their only song that received much attention. Not much to go on, but who was it?

I'm trying to identify the name of an American indy/shoegazer/space-rock band from the mid-90s, but I don't have much to go on. :-(
One of their songs had the line "They've been talking about you. What they say it isn't true. They've been talking about you. And about me too."

So the wedding planning is in full gear and we are having trouble finding the right entertainment.. Her parents want a band, we want a dj, so we've decided on getting a DJ/MC with a Jazz trio.. Problem is, we've visited a few, but cannot settle on one because none have been perfect.
Anyone have any recommendations? Wedding is in Springfield, NJ, next early spring.

My fiance and I have been looking for a unique wedding band design and we really like carved and engraved gold but not the stuff that looks like it has just been diamond cut. We found a really nice 1930's french wedding band with laurel on it
Here.
Any ideas where I could find more designs like this?? We are looking to stick to yellow gold and want something unique.

I'm looking for inspiration. The subject is band/musical artist photographs... not live images, but portraits and art shots that accompany articles and are used for band promotion. Can anyone recommend some photographers, websites or individual images for me to check out? (I already know about Annie Leibovitz, Anton Corbijn, Steve Gullick and Chris Buck, but feel free to point out particular shots by these artists that you admire anyhow.)
