Intimidation through obscure references!

I need a badass battle cry. You know, something I can scream in the face of adversity, or put on a shield and hang on my wall. Although my heritage is primarily French, German and Welsh, I'm open to all histories, cultures and languages. Bonus points if it's got a cool story or myth behind it, extra-super-bonus-points if it acknowledges both badassery and the willingness to accept defeat (such as, "Today is a good day to die.")

If it's based on a particular figure or house in history, I would dearly love some background to accompany it; and if it's not a Western language and you can provide a pronunciation guide, I'd be grateful for that too. (Nothing more embarrassing than finding out you've put the emphasis wrong and are actually yelling that you love puppies.)

Badass songs from the beginnings of rock?

I've always thought of early rock and country as being populated by men who might have done very bad things if they hadn't done music, and I want to hear some songs that prove it. Dale Hawins' Susie Q has that vibe. Charlie Feathers' That Certain Female seems like a song Mr. Blonde would bop to. I'd like to hear some other songs that feel just as... raw? Intimidating? I'm not quite sure. I think it's a "know it when I hear it" situation, and I'm hoping someone else has heard it and knows it.

I need a really awesome entrance song. Something that makes the audience be like, "Aw damn, I now know that this is going to be very enjoyable, all because this song is so badass." What I've got so far:

Bad-ass music for a sporting event.

Help me pick music to play over the PA system at a sporting event. I'm in charge of picking the music to play over the loudspeakers at an NCAA D-I lacrosse game. This means songs to play before the game, during timeouts, and during halftime. I also need a good, get people pumped up, ominous song to have playing in the background during the home team's starting lineup (takes about 1:30 to go through the lineup, so preferably something that builds slowly and doesn't have words). I've checked out some past threads, but would appreciate any other suggestions you guys have.

Some songs I've used in the past: Welcome to the Jungle, Hell's Bells, Who Are You, Name of the Game, Sirius, Ride of the Valkyries. Genre is irrelevant as long as it gets the crowd hyped up. Any suggestions?
