I backed up the contents of my ASUS UL50VT laptop in 2011 to my Seagate external hard drive using their Memeo software. In 2012, I connected the Seagate again and ran a second backup, and it created a separate folder where it stored all the new files I'd gained since the previous time. So far, so good.
Now when I try to back it up again, it has started from scratch--duplicating the entire contents of my 450 GB laptop to a third folder. I'm gonna use up all my hard drive space this way, stat. Any way to make it back up only the new files again, like it did before?

The layman's guide to data backup - please advise my next purchase! 1. Google-eager but totally confused Newbie. 2. Budget limit $750. 3. Want some kind of system so that if one drive fails, another one will still keep everything. After a few days of research, the pool of information is just getting too big and murky. Please help me clear the fog... More info inside. [more inside]

I'm in the market for an external hard drive. I'm running XP on a PC and know nothing about external hard drives except what I'd like it to do. [more inside]

What is the best way to share an external hard drive between a PC and a Mac (both laptops) so that both computers can read and write to it? Can it even be done? [more inside]
