My baby shower was two months ago and I still haven't sent the thank you cards. My baby is now a month old. Can I send out the thank you cards and the birth announcements together, or is that horribly tacky? [more inside]

Baby shower help please? I'm throwing a baby shower for my sister-in-law in a couple weeks. It's going to be a co-ed Halloween party basically, but also there will be baby presents. How can I incorporate babies & Halloween in the food and decorations? Cheaper is better, as I'm about to be laid off soon!

I need ideas for a Baby Shower with a Halloween theme. It's a co-ed event, and I'm particularly interested in making the guys feel welcome (since most of them understand "shower" to mean "girl gab fest"). The new parents are having a little girl, if that affects any of your answers. Basically I want something fun, and, well, different. Thanks in advance1

Does anyone have any first-hand experience setting up a 529 plan for a member of the extended family? I have pretty good ideas about where to look for information about which state's plan would be best (although any suggestions about great plans in specific states are welcome), but I'm at a bit of a loss with the mechanics of doing for someone else's kid. The soon-to-be niece or nephew of iminurmefi thanks you! [more inside]
