My (toddler?) 16 mo old son has developed a new habit at bath time: standing. While he has been a little hesitant to go walking solo outside the tub -- inside the tub he has suddenly become enthralled with the idea. Any suggestions on how to handle what has become a standing.. sponge bath?

I'm pretty sure it's better to be a single, lonely, terrified parent than an attached, angry, bitter parent - but need confirmation from a neutral third party.

superly sockpuppet birds and the bees filter: i was date-raped and now i am negotiating some intense babydaddy issues in court. he has a new girlfriend and a new baby. my child is 6 and understandably pondering how this is all possible. babydaddy was not significantly present for about 5 years. i am a very much single mother and i and my parents are all that my child has known in a truly significant way...how to approach the question of origin truthfully but sensitively?

What is your trusted brand, tip and trick on selecting baby formula, diaper to crib. What about car seat? Would a cheap one from wal-mart would work? I mean all the car seats in the market has to meet the current safety standards, right?
I went through most of the old AskMeFi thread, but if there's one you particularly like, please do link.

Any suggestions on how to teach my baby to turn over from front to back? I am hoping that a kinesthesiologist or baby specialist may have some input, because my 5 month old is flipping herself over onto her stomach but can't get back, and is becoming very frustrated.

Has anyone used
thredup? I'm really liking the notion of a quasi-freecycling of baby and child clothes but I'd love to hear what others have to say before I commit.

Do to a family medical emergency, my wife and I are probably going to be renting a car and driving from Philadelphia to Toronto tomorrow night. We are both Canadians living in the US on temporary NAFTA visas. Fun complication: Our daughter is four months old and is an American citizen with an American birth certificate. We haven't yet gotten her a passport or applied for her Canadian citizenship.
Should we expect to have any difficulty crossing the border with her, in either direction? Is there anything we can get in the next 24 hours to make things go more smoothly?

From almost day one, I want to wear baby so that I can move freely through the house, do gentle chores, etc. I also want to avoid dragging the huge stroller with us as much as possible when we leave the house (ie. to go grocery shopping). Comfort rules; cost is not a concern. Which baby carrier should I buy? Will the same one suit the home and non-athletic outings?
