Breastfeeding and immunity filter:
When I (the breastfeeding mom) am exposed to a bug that I have previously developed antibodies to, does baby get enough antibodies to prevent contracting the bug?
Does he make antibodies too, or just float by on mine?
When he encounters the same bug later in life will he have immunity to it?
Does baby get my antibodies to bugs we're not encountering?
Is he, for instance, immune to the flu from 2002 that I got?
They say that BF babies get sick less often and when they get sick it's not as bad. Immunity-wise, how can a baby get a bug not as bad? Does that just mean the bug doesn't get to run the course, ie. cut off midway?

I'll be watching my friend's 1 year old for 6 hours a day (9-3), 5 days a week for the summer. I'll be bringing my 11 month old to her house.
Our kids get along well and her place is well baby-proofed. I bought a double jogger and she bought an extra high chair and car seat.
I've never dealt with two babies before and I need advice.

I'd like some guidelines on how to be reasonably cautious with my child's health when I can't tell if the nurses are overreacting or not.

Will a picky baby be a picky toddler? Will a baby who will eat anything be a toddler who'll eat anything? Are the two linked at all?

He's been in our room in a bassinet (so sweet!). But it's time for him to go to his room, his crib. Also, he wakes up every 1-2.5 hours so we're doing graduated extinction this weekend.

We weaned our 6 month old from his pacifier 5 days ago. He won't nap and has a very hard time getting to sleep in general. He used to be so easy, I'm dumbfounded. Ideas?

Should we opt for the drop-side or standard fixed-side crib? My man's 6'2 and I'm 5'9, so I'm thinking the drop-side may be nice for putting down the (soon-to-be) baby when he gets heavier (especially if I'm pregnant again by then)!
