Detailed Information on Babies' Development and Games to Play with Them!

I have a relatively new baby (almost ten weeks old) and she is amazing! I didn't think a baby would be this much fun! I'm looking for very detailed (ideally week by week) information on how she is developing and what games I can play with her that we will both find enjoyable ("games" defined very broadly e.g. "watching her eyes track a moving object" and "trying to grasp something with her tiny paw" both count as games for these purposes). Help me plan a beach vacation in mexico

We are planning a beach vacation (for about 7-8 days) in Mexico in next few months with a 5-year-old and an 18-month-old. We are planning on spending most of the time at the beach or around the pool. Might for an excursion, if it’s something that we can handle with an 18-month-old. At night, we like the option of getting out from the resort and walk around the streets (if it’s safe) and maybe try street food. No nightclubs for us. More information inside [more inside]

Volunteering with 1-2 Year Olds

My wife and I both used to volunteer one or two days a month. Since our child was born, it is much harder to find the time to volunteer. Are there any good volunteer opportunities that would work well with a 20 month old? We live in Brooklyn, if anyone knows anything specific to our area. [more inside]

Move to another apartment in the same neighborhood to escape landlord?

How does deleading work when you're already in the apartment?

We live in an apartment in Massachusetts and are expecting a baby four months in the future. We think the apartment may not be deleaded. I know that a landlord is legally obligated to delead an apartment that a child will live in, and I assume that covers the case in which a child appears after the lease has started. If that's the case, how does deleading work when tenants are already living in the apartment, and is it logistically feasible for us to go through that process? [more inside]

How to teach an old baby new tricks

Our 11 month old kid loves to be helpful and tries to copy whatever we do. Unfortunately, he's about a year or two or three away from having the physical ability to do so.
