How can I censor the audio in an .avi file using Quicktime Pro? [more inside]

Ok, my google-fu has failed me. I'm trying to find a simple software program that will allow me to take an AVI file (or multiple AVI files - TV shows, mostly) and burn them to a DVD-R while still having the audio sync up properly. I've tried a couple of programs, and for some reason, the audio ends up being out of sync toward the end, although it's just fine at the beginning.

I've got an .avi file whose audio has come unstuck in time. Is there some easy Mac OS X solution to re-sync this audio? Basically, is there any software out there that will let me take apart the file, and then glue it back together with the audio two seconds later?

I am trying to strip audio from digital video clips I've captured, and having no success. The captured clips are in .avi format, and my sound editing software is CoolEdit 2000. [more inside] [more inside]
