So, back in grade 5 (or 5th grade, as we called it in Brooklyn), our teacher had us all write to various sports teams and basically ask for free stuff. I ended up deluged with schedules, stickers, postcards, and a few autographed photos. Somewhere along the way, I also picked up about a hundred autographs (on 3 x 5 index cards, with neatly handwritten descriptions) of baseball players from the 40s-70s. How can I find out if this load of presumed shite is worth anything? [more inside]
I'm thinking about going to this John Cleese book signing at a midtown NYC Barnes & Noble. Is this going to be Black-Friday crazy, or merely annoying? [more inside]
I have this poster of Captain Planet that I want to frame to put in my office and I am thinking of "autographing" it. However, I do not seem to find any evidence of Captain Planet being able to either read or write, despite having a great spoken vocabulary. This could be because the earth does not have its own written language or alphabet. I am thinking the best thing to do is punch a hole in the poster and then hang it. Do you have any better ideas?
Is this Jean-François Lyotard's autograph? And can anyone decipher this scrawl?

I'm looking for an autographed picture as a present, but $200 seems like much and I've seen people selling copies of autographed pictures for $10. What are good sources for autographed pictures, either high quality downloads or pictures with original signatures? [more inside]
I got Werner Herzog to sign one of my Chuck's. He used a permanent Sharpie. I'd like to continue wearing the shoes (it's just a signature), but I'd like the sig to fade as slowly as possible (it's Werner Herzog's signature OMG!) What is the best way to protect Werner Herzog's signature (in Sharpie) on a pair of Chuck's?
