Can anyone help me find an audio version of the Singalong Sound of Music with the audience participation included in the recording? I am not looking for a short clip (the only things I've managed to find so far) but rather, the entire show. Thanks.

I'm going to be in the Los Angeles area for the first week of July and possibly the last week of August. I'd like to be in the audience for the taping of a TV show. [more inside]

I produce a YouTube show about media literacy/criticism. Right now we post weekly, on a schedule which is driving me insane. Does frequency of publishing new content matter (whether it's for a blog, a podcast, a comic, etc) so long as you publish regularly? Could I do it every other week or monthly without losing people's attention? And what do you suggest doing to help make up for less-frequent publishing? [more inside]

I need to find a scene in an old film (preferably really old, like pre-1923) that shows a bunch of stuffy men sitting in an audience, listening intently, as if to a lecture. The only catch -- it has to be set in the late 19th century. Anything pop to mind, oh great collective brain? [more inside] [more inside]

How do I get tickets to see a live taping of a Japanese game show? My husband and I will be in Tokyo in April. The stranger the show and its premise, the better.

Once upon a time, I flunked out of college. I’ve been hiding out with a giant stack of books for 5 years, and have developed some pretty specific academic interests. I finally feel ready to return, but I stink on paper and I’ve got caviar taste in schools. Help me explain myself and understand the audience to whom I’m doing all this explaining? [more inside]

I'm a writer who has been contributing free works of fiction (novellas, short stories) to the Web for the past five years. I've enjoyed sparks of brief net popularity and these glimmers show that what I put out there is definitely appreciated by a certain faction of the reading population. Is there something better I can do to get my name and work out there than waiting around to get Slashdotted again? [more inside]

How I do I turn my audience into loyal fans? We have several concerts coming up, and though we've got a handle on promoting shows (getting people to come out), our questions are: (1) how do we get them to run home and tell their friends to go to our next show? (2) and how do we learn more about people who come? Looking for personal experiences from concert-goers and tips from musicians and other industries - [more inside]

Where are some good places for an aspiring performing songwriter to live? Not so much looking to sweep the pop music world as I am looking to find a spot on the long tail. But I've been thinking it might be helpful to look for locations where there are sizable audiences of people who regularly choose live but thoughtful music as an entertainment option and artists and venues that oblige them. Foreign customs: In Fred Plotkin's excellect "Opera 101", he describes (but doesn't explain) how many Germans behave during an intermission. This American is mystified and wants to understand more: "At intermission, many of them stand quietly, while others may join a large group walking around the lobby. This is an odd sight for a newcomer. The audience members form a circle or an oval and all walk the same direction around the perimeter of the lobby." Sounds a bit like a prison yard to me.
