There are a few low value items I am interested in on eBay. They seem to be popular so I would like to use a sniping service to try to win them. How do I do this? I assume that they might need my user name and password or does the service use its own account? What companies are trustworthy?
Bonus: I generally use my iPhone/Pad so iOS friendly would be great.
I know that some people are collectors, especially of art as an investment and I know that market can be particularly volatile.

I'd like to sell my desktop computer. I built it in 2011, with intermittent upgrades. It was fairly powerful at the time, as I used it as an engineering student. Specs are below. I have a few questions, never having done this before. I need help setting a price, setting up the OS for sale, and safely deleting my data [more inside]
I want to try to buy a domain (expiring next month) which I'm pretty sure won't be competed for. I don't want to keep loading WhoIs (it's a hassle, plus I'm afraid my inquiries will be logged, creating the appearance of interest in the domain). GoDaddy and SnapNames offer aggressive sniping services which funnel into auctions, and this biz model creates incentive to escalate auction competition. Since I'm not anticipating competitive interest (nor do I want to risk inducing it!), is there a non-industrial strength service which will simply monitor and grab the domain as it comes on the market, without all the dodgy auction provision stuff?

What could I write to the winning bidder of an eBay fashion accessory item on which I had intended to bid very high, but finally could not do by a glitch that prevented the "Bid now" window from opening in my browser. I am willing to pay them much more than they paid for the item, but is there anything I could say that would make them more willing to part with the item? What could a stranger say to you
in writing that would make you
even consider parting with a beautiful new purchase (when maybe a tidy profit over the price you paid was in itself not necessarily such a powerful inducement?) [more inside]
Our house was recently sold at auction due to foreclosure. I'm curious about the details of the sale, specifically the fact that the same bank that owned the mortgage won the auction (bought the house from themselves?) and also that they paid way more than the house is worth. [more inside]

An elderly family friend has an original poster (known as BG074) and program from the 1967 Jefferson Airplane and Grateful Dead concert at the O'Keefe Centre in Toronto. He is interested in selling the poster and program, and I've offered to help out. According to Wolfgang's Vault
, "BG074 is among the rarest of posters. There are hard to verify stories that the original cache of posters was confiscated at the Canadian border by border patrol, but whether the posters were seized or simply put away by contented Canadians, this summer concert made a big impression." Accordingly, I've seen auctions and online memorabilia stores listing this poster in the $5,000 and up range, and the program for close to $1,000.
What is the best way to authenticate and sell these items? I contacted Wolfgang's Vault but they don't normally purchase individual items, and the art dealers I've been in touch with don't deal with rock memorabilia. Is there a Sotheby's of rock? Is eBay even worth considering?

In 2000-2001, there was a video art exhibit at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. It featured neatly dressed American auctioneers talking in that high-speed almost unintelligible way, quickly reciting the bids to an audience that wasn't there, in front of a variety of landscapes. One was a stocky woman in a business skirt two-piece set walking slowly at dusk with a dark building in the back. Can you find the artist's work? Or point me to the artist?

The party includes brats, buns, chips, cookies, beer, soda (to be delivered for a game day party) So far in the auction item, I have a 5L keg of beer, the Seahawks party goods, plates, napkins, tattoos. What else can you think of the make this item look great. Can you think of an interesting container for auction presentation? Looking for wow factor at a low cost. Thank you!
