How to deal with a questionable eBay bidder?

I am selling a mint vintage item on eBay, and am halfway through a ten day auction. I stated in the item description that I reserve the right to refuse high bids from any bidders with questionable feedback, location, or reputation. I now have a couple of bids from someone who fits this description. What is the procedure now? How should I notify the person and/or eBay?

What is the best way to sell a house in poor condition?

My wife and her siblings inherited a house that is in bad condition and full of dirt and clutter. They don't have the time or money to fix it up to the point where it would sell as a regular real estate sale on the market. The real estate market where the house is located is not great. Sold at auction 6 times? Too many?

In the last 3 months, it's been to 6 auctions. It was reported as a dealer vehicle twice in that time as well. Should I continue looking at it? It's $4500 and I'm thinking of seeing if they'll go down by $500. I've never bought a car this way so I'm open to opinions. [more inside]

How to snipe on eBay?

There are a few low value items I am interested in on eBay. They seem to be popular so I would like to use a sniping service to try to win them. How do I do this? I assume that they might need my user name and password or does the service use its own account? What companies are trustworthy? Bonus: I generally use my iPhone/Pad so iOS friendly would be great.

Grabbing an Expiring Low-Competition Domain

I want to try to buy a domain (expiring next month) which I'm pretty sure won't be competed for. I don't want to keep loading WhoIs (it's a hassle, plus I'm afraid my inquiries will be logged, creating the appearance of interest in the domain). GoDaddy and SnapNames offer aggressive sniping services which funnel into auctions, and this biz model creates incentive to escalate auction competition. Since I'm not anticipating competitive interest (nor do I want to risk inducing it!), is there a non-industrial strength service which will simply monitor and grab the domain as it comes on the market, without all the dodgy auction provision stuff?

Help me get the eBay item I did not win due to a technical malfunction!

What could I write to the winning bidder of an eBay fashion accessory item on which I had intended to bid very high, but finally could not do by a glitch that prevented the "Bid now" window from opening in my browser. I am willing to pay them much more than they paid for the item, but is there anything I could say that would make them more willing to part with the item? What could a stranger say to you in writing that would make you even consider parting with a beautiful new purchase (when maybe a tidy profit over the price you paid was in itself not necessarily such a powerful inducement?) Why does this foreclosure auction seems so odd?

How to sell a valuable Grateful Dead poster?

An elderly family friend has an original poster (known as BG074) and program from the 1967 Jefferson Airplane and Grateful Dead concert at the O'Keefe Centre in Toronto. He is interested in selling the poster and program, and I've offered to help out. According to Wolfgang's Vault, "BG074 is among the rarest of posters. There are hard to verify stories that the original cache of posters was confiscated at the Canadian border by border patrol, but whether the posters were seized or simply put away by contented Canadians, this summer concert made a big impression." Accordingly, I've seen auctions and online memorabilia stores listing this poster in the $5,000 and up range, and the program for close to $1,000. What is the best way to authenticate and sell these items? I contacted Wolfgang's Vault but they don't normally purchase individual items, and the art dealers I've been in touch with don't deal with rock memorabilia. Is there a Sotheby's of rock? Is eBay even worth considering?

Video art exhibit featuring American auctioneers?

In 2000-2001, there was a video art exhibit at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. It featured neatly dressed American auctioneers talking in that high-speed almost unintelligible way, quickly reciting the bids to an audience that wasn't there, in front of a variety of landscapes. One was a stocky woman in a business skirt two-piece set walking slowly at dusk with a dark building in the back. Can you find the artist's work? Or point me to the artist?
