Switching to Verizon, buying a Droid, paying AT&Ts early termination fee, and then selling my 16GB iPhone 3Gs on Ebay to cover my costs and break even (or better) seems like it's too easy. Am I missing something?

I want to help my aunt get set up with DSL service. She has phone service with AT&T and DSL is available in her area. Her computer is an HP Pavillion that is about 6 yrs. old running XP. To avoid her having to pay AT&T's $200 fee for a tech to come out and get her going, what can I do from a hardware standpoint? Does DSL use an Ethernet port or a dial-up modem port? Should I buy her a DSL modem or will AT&T provide one? Sorry for these NooB questions as I've only dealt with cable Internet service. Thanks.

About six months ago, I saw a cool device. You could plug your AT&T USB 3G "laptop connect" into it, and it would generate a local wi-fi hotspot (similar to the Verizon MiFi). I've since purchased the AT&T card, but I can't find the device anywhere. Was I imagining things? Does such a device exist? It'd be very, very useful. Thanks!

Two iPhones, a 2G and a 3G, on a family plan. Adding a third, a 3GS. Can I just swap the SIM cards to get the phone numbers onto the devices I want them on, or does AT&T need to get involved?

I had my iPhone stolen a week ago. I still have 18 months on my contract. I don't know what my options are--I'd like to get a Google phone (but I'm not sure which are released yet, and work with AT&T). Or can I just cancel my AT&T contract? Or is there a way to get an inexpensive replacement iPhone? What choices do I have?

Mrs. Argyle's iPhone is broken. The SIM card won't stay seated. Apple says the water damage telltale is red, so they won't touch it for repair, nor will AT&T repair it. The water damage telltale invalidates all warranties. From what multiple calls with AT&T tell me, my only option is paying full replacement cost of the iPhone ($400) for a new one. Does anyone know of other or better options? Thanks.

I bought an Iphone through ATT dec 9th.
Found out today i will be in Japan this year starting this spring for one year
ATT Contract states:"simply return it either to a store or by mail within 30 days from the date the equipment." I assumed that that meant 30 full days of use (hence return today would be OK, but they insist that it meant 30 calendar days irregardless of what time the phone was picked up or activated, and so they denied my return.
Any thoughts on my options?
Should the contract not be more clear on precise what 30 days means?

I'm interested in buying an OLD iPhone and using it with AT&T's pay as you go service. If I choose the Pay as You Go Unlimited plan, which is 10 cents per minute + 1 dollar per day only on the days I use my phone, should I be able to 1) use a payg sim card with the iphone straight out of the box, and 2) add a text messaging bundle to this?
Also, is it possible to get a payg sim card without having to purchase a phone directly from at&t?
