I am searching for the name of a painter. I am going to describe one painting I clearly remember. I saw these paintings when I was a child.
The book of his works had the same theme of monkeys and skeletons involved in everyday activities.
In the painting I remember, a skeleton (it may have been a couple) is in a bed with white sheets and leaning over to put out the light on a nightstand. There is a monkey or baboon sitting on the room's window sill.
The images are realistic bordering on illustrations.
This is all I have. And this is why I came to metafilter.
Thank you for your help.

On a deadline: Help me find the name of an amazing, bizarre, crude, disgusting artist whose childish paintings of people in extreme situations surrounded by thought/speech balloons/bubbles I saw in a Lower East Side gallery around 2010-2011.

Help me identify an eccentric artist that gave tours of his house in Seattle around the year 2000. He was obsessed with a number (four or five, maybe) and had many conditions for his tours that hinged upon that number (i.e. needing four people to tour the property, and tours being available in four minute or four hour duration). He might have gone by "[
first name] Art".

I can't for the life of me remember the name of a particular megamix/mashup album/artist. I remember that the first track sounded like it started with the helicopter sound from the beginning of one of the 'Another Brick..' tracks from Pink Floyd's 'The Wall', then it either sampled 'Little Fluffy Clouds' or used sampled the same interview. Closer to the end of the album 'Your Song' was mixed in. Any ideas? I believe the artist also had an album featuring mostly Flaming Lips mixes. Both were available free on his website.

I'm looking for a country music song. All I can remember is the artist, male, singing about the presidents of the US. If can remember correctly they were lining up and at a funeral (but, I could be wrong). Any suggestions as to what song it was?

I'm designing a card game and I have most of my own art for prototyping, but eventually want *real* art. I have no place where to look for such a thing or how much it would cost. Does anyone have any ideas on what sort of going rate such a thing would cost? Do you pay by the hour? Any tips are greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for a video artist's website (that I first saw linked on metafilter) -- the artist in question did series (maybe 9?) of web videos of a heavyset guy (possibly the artist himself.) In each of the videos, the guy INTERACTED with the cursor: for example, if you moved the arrow on the trackpad across the video, the guy would suddenly SLAP the cursor out of the way. I've tried all the tags I can think of, but cannot locate the site. Help?
