I have some artwork that I want to put on coffee mugs for friends. Though I see a few DIY sites, I am not sure what resin to use to hold up in microwave so would like your recommendations on commercial sites. I may eventually do bulk orders if I decide to sell so if you have any recommendations that would be different for bulk orders, I am game for those suggestions as well. Vistaprint was around $20-25 after all was said and done.
Thanks, and enjoy your weekend.

I am decorating a new apartment and would like to put some nice pieces of art on the walls. I love some of the photographs in the Library of Congress collection and have thought about having them blown up and printed high-res. Which brings me to my question: What are the best high-res images (in the public domain) floating around the Internet? Or collections of public domain high-res images that I can turn into posters?

I bought a print of a painting I love in the only format available: A full bleed art show poster on glossy 11"x17" bond. The painting reproduction is approximately the top half of the poster, say 10"x8". I can clearly see the grain of the canvas in the print, and it is entirely possible that the original painting is not much larger than the reprint. So my question is, is it feasible to have this print blown up to twice or thrice it's size without sacrificing quality? [more inside]

I want to print a once-off version of a long poem I've written for display; all I have so far are the words (no specific designs or illustrations or whatever). I really like the look of letterpress but it seems that letterpress places only do bulk orders. Is this true? Are there other options? [more inside]

I want to mount a poster
on painted black wood and then add a nice gloss. I currently have ModgePodge and Envirotech High Gloss Pour
. The ModgePodge worked well on a ceramic tile and card stock for beer coasters I was designing but the gloss still had air bubbles despite the equal mixing and required stirring. I live in an apartment and cannot pour on a large area as the poster. Is there a work around...a brush on finish or spray that will be clear? I do want the gloss and not just a polyurethane spray (I do own that, though).

Several years ago, my boyfriend and I saw a really weird painting/print/poster in a thrift store. We didn't buy it (nooo!), it disappeared shortly thereafter (NOOO!) and it's haunted us ever since. What WAS it? [more inside]

Looking for a downloadable poster generator that was on the net around six or seven years ago. You selected a style and provided text and it used an algorithm to create a poster in the style that was "hip" at the time. Background images featured urbanscapes and the like which would have looked right at home on a WILCO album cover. I may have actually seen it here first. Does it still exist? Is there a Mac version of it? If not, anything else like it today?

I'm looking for a science fiction poster, possibly from a convention (or purchased at a convention). Likely dates from the 70s, contained a large (arcology sized) spaceship in the distance landed on a planet with a trail of people into it stretching into the foreground. Color palette was... yellow-ish, I think? Similar to John Berkey (http://bit.ly/8ie0i6) art, as my memory serves. Can anyone help? [more inside]

Help me find a reprint of Saul Steinberg's 1976 New Yorker poster
, if such a thing exists. This is my awesome birthday gift idea for my husband... but I can't afford an original, which sell on fleabay for $200ish. I'm in the UK right now but will be moving to NYC in September, so a store there or online place would be great.

Looking to purchase some awesome linguistics-related posters. I've searched for hours on the internet and I can't seem to find any family tree posters, IPA posters, or even anything remotely related to linguistics that is interesting and somewhat academic. [more inside]

I want to get a poster-sized art print of a PDF (all vector graphics). Since it seems like there are a thousand companies promising high quality prints online, I'd love to hear anybody's recommendations about who I should go to for this sort of job.

Does anyone know of where I could get (or download) a good sized copy of this
poster (advertising the fictional magician Li H'sen Chang), seen in the classic Dr Who story 'The Talons of Weng Chiang'
? I'd love to get a large sized copy to frame for my living room for some subtle geek chic!

While watching a Japanese documentary about some kid in America (not famous, so nothing y'all would likely have seen), in the background there was a poster of the head of the Statue of Liberty stylized to look like the Transformers Autobot symbol. Googling has been surprisingly unsuccessful; does anyone know who the artist might be, whether that poster can be purchased or image found online, etc?
