I have a drawing tablet and I enjoy my hobby of designing prints, however I want to get better at it and am looking for the best resources. Specifically techniques I'm interested in and programs to help. [more inside]
It looks kind of like a human body, but wrong. Any description of what it is and/or how it was made would be welcome. Thanks!
I am looking for some good documentaries about digital art. What do you recommend? Biographical movies about artists that make art with PhotoShop would be great. Movies about the history of CGI would be fascinating. Documentaries about art made for the internet could also be fun to see. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Wondering if anyone else who uses the Wacom Intuos5 drawing tablet knows how to deal with this problem. My Intuos3, which I loved, had a big dead space in the middle of the drawing pad because I used a cleaner on it that messed it up. Two new versions had been released since I bought it, so I figured it was time to get the latest and greatest. [more inside]

Are there any free photo editors that can work with higher resolution images (300dpi) and offer some of the effects that Pixlr-o-matic can? They seem to save to web resolution only.
I have a tablet, a computer, a copy of an older version of Adobe Illustrator, and a desire to create simple icons for one of my websites. [more inside]

There used to be a Photoshop plugin that would separate a full-color RGB/CMYK image into spot colors appropriately (or inappropriately, as the case may be) - for example, a predominantly tan and blue image of a person standing in water to just those spot colors. I think it made the images into DCS multichannel files ... anyway, is there anything like that for CS4? Or is there a relatively easy way to do it manually?

I will be doing print layout for a photobook with text... using solely Adobe Photoshop. What technical secrets do I need to know to make sure that graphics, background AND text come out looking cohesive and snappy on the printed page? [more inside]

I remember seeing a really cool Photoshop project a while ago that took pictures of street scenes, removed all the text from the image, then created a second image consisting only of the removed text, with font and placement preserved. Who did it and where can I find it?
What are some pictures/paintings of groups of people that are instantly recognizable? I'm thinking along the line's of da Vinci's "The Last Supper" and would lend itself to having photographs (probably poorly) photoshopped over the faces for a friend's going-away gift? [more inside]
Where can I get an archival, museum quality photographic print from a 35mm transparency in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC area? Also, what kind of print should I have made (Cibachrome or digital/ink jet)? [more inside]
I'd like to make op-art style backgrounds for posters. I've been doing it with french curves by hand, but I'd like to use a computer to cut down the amount of time it requires (and the steady hand— curse you, strong drink!). [more inside]
Art Theory Question: If somebody electronically adds an artwork into another virtual canvas (ex: a Moleskine page scan ), can he rightfully call it "Moleskine Art"?. Same goes for Photoshopped art on a quilt, graffiti on a blank wall, et c. Is it unethical for an artist to suggest that a work was done manually when it has been manipulated electronically? Your opinions or links to pertinent discussions elsewhere is much appreciated.
I'm a Photoshop wiz interested in trying my hand at some vector-based illustration for a change. Which program is best? Is there a free/OSS option that can compete with Illustrator/Painter/FreeHand? And how much of a head-start will my Photoshop knowledge get me in Illustrator vs. anything else?
