The boyfriend and I are vacationing in Santiago, Valparaiso, and the Lake District (Pucon, Chiloe, San Martin de los Andes, and Bariloche) for about two weeks in May. We'd appreciate restaurant, food, and sightseeing advice from folks who've lived or traveled to any of these spots! We like pretty much any kind of food, we love checking out off-the-beaten path museums and tourist attractions. We're outdoorsy, but we won't be camping and we won't have time to do anything more than a day hike, probably. We'll have a car in the Lake District. Thank you!

I'm in Santa Fe, Argentina. My girlfriend and I are planning to leave tomorrow afternoon to hitchhike toward Mendoza. Neither of us has ever hitchhiked before, our Spanish is fine but not ideal (we've been in Argentina and Uruguay for a few weeks and have been getting along fine, but no one would mistake us for native speakers), and we are both fairly nonthreatening white Americans in our 20s.

I am in Bariloche and I´m going to do the Nahuel Huapi Traverse the day after tomorrow (taking either 3 or 5 days if I have the time.) I want to get to El Chaltén and spend 5 days trekking around Monte Fitz Roy and Laguna Torre. I would also like to spend a day at Parque Nacional Los Glaciares near El Calafate. Then I have to get to Punta Arenas to fly out March 1st. That leaves me with a little less than a week to work with.

voseo (the use of the informal second-person singular pronoun

I'm not the first to ask this type of question, but my situation is a bit unique. I have 10 days, starting at Iguazu Falls and flying out of Buenos Aires. My original plan was to travel down to Uruguay for a few days and then take the ferry over to Bs. As (for at least 4 days). I've recently learned about Salta, and it sounds really cool. Is it worth taking the long bus ride there and back down to Bs. As. or should I just let it go and head to Uruguay?

Planning a trip to South America. Only have 3 to 4 weeks max for the entire holiday.
