I am looking for an app that allows me to add highlights and notes to articles I have saved to 'read later' on my iPad and/or smartphone. [more inside]
I recently bought a Nexus 7 (I love it!) as a companion to academic work. I've primarily been using Google apps for communication and collaboration over Drive and Gmail, in addition to traditional tablet tasks like web browsing and social media. However I'm less than impressed with the bundled PDF reader, and would really like suggestions (first) about good .pdf reading software that allows for rich annotations in documents. Secondly, I'm interest in any productivity apps for Android tablets that others have used for academic / writing / office style work. [more inside]
I'm still using a Samsung flip phone from the earlier part of this century. It works fine; I'm not a big cell phone user, but it calls and texts, is reasonably cheap, and I'm quite happy with it. For some upcoming graduate work, though, I need a device that is capable of runnings apps (specifically drug information, like Epocrates) and am weighing my different options. More below the fold. Currently I have an extremely cheap, non-smart phone (no apps) with an excellent and highly affordable plan. But my old e-reader broke and rather than get another device which can only read, I want to get a device that has other kinds of apps. I've never owned such a device so I need help deciding. I don't know what options I may be missing. [more inside]
My 80-year-old grandfather has a Nexus tablet, and he wants me to find apps for him. I have no idea what to get him, and I don't think he does, either: he just wants neat things to do with it, though he's not at all tech-savvy. What might I download for him? This may be a tall order: I'm looking for apps that are preferably free, intuitive to use, and that aren't too complex or intricate. Most games are probably right out (though he likes card games, and may like similarly simple ones). Even the act of entering a search in YouTube is tricky for him. Any ideas of what I could find for him to download?
I bought my son a low-end Android tablet and now I want to load it up with quality applications. I'm looking for equal parts entertainment, education, and beautiful UI. [more inside]
What are your must have free or low cost apps for the Nexus 7?
What's a good option for using a tablet like a networked digital frame for sharing family photos? I'm looking for a fairly simple system for a mentally handicapped relative. [more inside]

I'm deploying a fleet of Motorola Xoom Android tablets to a couple dozen skilled trade workers. What apps do I need to include to help make my life and the lives of the workers as easy as possible? No internet access other than a few approved sites (managed by firewall and a wireless profile), but they'll be getting their email and calendar (all powered by GAFE) too.
