Looking for the right iOS app to help organize my life

I'm heading to graduate school soon and I'm trying to develop good habits and a good routine in preparation for that change. I've never been good with physical planners (I lose them or forget to write in them) but I always have my iPad so I'm trying to find an app that meets my needs and could use some input. [more inside]

This is stupid! Please help me enjoy my new toys (Moto G, iPad, Macbook)

I've recently acquired some new toys that I'm not getting any use out of because of my unusually strong hatred of spyware, adware, and "social networking". Specifically, I've had a new Moto G phone for about two weeks, an iPad mini for a few months and a Macbook Pro for about two years. I'm not getting any enjoyment or use out of these tools because I need help configuring them in such a way that they don't bother me with social networking noise and spyware-related crap. Please help. [more inside]

iPad puzzles and games for a 20-month-old

Flying in the face of scientists' warnings, my wife and I allow our child to play with the iPad from time to time. She's outgrown most of the apps she previously played with -- does anyone have any recommendations for good puzzle, games, and educational apps that would be age-appropriate and interesting for a twenty-month-old? Thanks.

Give me reasons (apps, uses, etc.) to keep the iPad I just bought.

This post about gadget fatigue on the blue prompted this question. I just bought the most recent iteration of the iPad. I have an old iPhone and an even older MacBook Pro, and after less than 24 hours with the iPad, I’m getting the impression that the it's superfluous to my life. Please present arguments to the contrary, so that I can make up my mind whether to return it. (I've read this Ask, and this Ask, and this Ask, but the tech changes so quickly that much of what is suggested there is dated, and plenty more apps/uses have come about since those were posted.) Recommendations for great apps for toddlers

The baby machine, a small boy of 15 months, and I will be taking our first flight in a couple of weeks and I'm freaking out just a little about keeping him entertained for the time at the airport as well as the 2 hours that we're on the plane. We don't do a lot of screen time as he's pretty little but I was thinking that if we there were some fun apps he could play with as part of our entertainment package (!) for the journey. iPhone & iPad: What are the best camera/photo apps in China?

Hi there, I'm teaching my Dad in China to use his Chinese App Store account - His iPhone and iPad Mini are his MAIN cameras these days, and he loves taking photos. I'm a bit rushed as I have to leave China soon, and don't have to time to search through Chinese app reviews (I don't know Chinese well anyway). So, please can you recommend any iPhone and iPad camera and photo apps (paid or free) available on the Chinese App Store that you love. Impressive apps are good; Impressive AND easy to learn and use apps (my Dad is not very tech-skilled and doesn't like complicated instructions) are the greatest. Thanks very much for your tips!!!

Tracking iTunes Store prices on iOS?

I use an app on my iPhone and iPad called AppShopper to keep a list of iOS apps I'd like to buy. It tracks them and sends a push notification when their price changes (or when there's an update to the app). Is there another app like that out there that tracks movies, music and TV shows (and maybe apps) on the iTunes Store? If there's no app, is there a website that does this?

How Do I Upload a File from (iPad) Onlive Plus Back to Dropbox?

I recently started using Onlive Plus and like it a lot. But I'm stuck on one thing. Once I have downloaded and edited a Dropbox file in Onlive, how do I get the file back to Dropbox? The Onlive FAQ says, "After you edit a file, save it and upload it to Dropbox," but I can't figure out how to accomplish the upload from within Onlive. And my google-fu is failing me. Are there any mobile apps that support community/collaborative remix? Apps that go beyond your own social network (i.e. Facebook/Twitter sharing), but post to their own public community. There are thousands of sites like that on the web, but the only ones I can find on iOS are Mixel and Make Pixel Art, and that seems crazy.

Where can I stay informed on new killer apps?

Frequently I notice that iPhone/iPad apps initially go on sale initially at a reduced price. Moog's Animoog app, for example, debuted for a limited time at $0.99 and now costs $30. Obviously this is a strategy to get buzz and positive reviews. However, I'm bummed for missing this deal. Are there any websites that give the reader a heads up on killer apps that have just come out and which are being offered for practically nothing?

No Yorker

My New Yorker Ipad app is crashing and closing within 20 seconds of opening an issue. I wrote new yorker tech support and they sent these instructions but they don't work: Please try resetting your app using the following instructions. 1. From the iPad home screen, tap twice on the home button and the apps that are running on your device will appear along the bottom row. 2. Hold down the icons until they "shake". 3. Tap on the red circle to reset your application. This does not delete the app. 4. Double tap the home button again to return to all of your apps. 5. Open the app and allow for your library to update. All of your issues should now be available for download. I think they addressed the wrong problem. I've rewrote them but because of the holiday there is no reply. Any suggestions of what to try next? I'd like to be able to read what I've paid for
