Gift ideas for beloved daycare workers?

My daughter is leaving the daycare where she has spent the last 4.5 years. These people have done so much in raising my daughter, from potty training to developing character and teaching moral values. I want them to know how much I appreciate them and I want to give them the most wonderful gift(s) possible, but without spending beyond my means. There are about 20 workers in total although some have spent more time with her than others. [more inside]

My Starbucks barista is totally rad. How can I thank her?

On weekend mornings, I head over to my local Starbucks for a grande green tea latte (sweetened) and a blueberry scone (warmed). The head barista there always remembers me and my order. (In fact, today my order was already ready when I arrived!) These little acts of kindness really put a smile on my face and I'd like to show my appreciation. What do you suggest? [more inside]

Positive Societal Sexual Appreciation of BHMs?

I am a straight BHM, but find it very hard to accept the supposed fact that there are hetero/bi women out there that could consider me attractive. I would appreciate links to anything that helps straight BHMs feel sexually appreciated: movie/television quotes, op-eds or writings, or pretty much anything you can think of. [more inside]

How can I make epic treasure on a budget?

The world is boring. It needs more buried treasure. What things could I bury as treasure - things with great and lasting value, yet could be obtained cheaply? (Eg, a spirits/wine chest could be inexpensive to buy, but eventually become a treasure worth finding after enough years have passed. Superstar backstage passes are useless as treasure (they expire), but are an example of something of great value that doesn't cost much money to obtain - if you can find a way to obtain them.) How does one "show" appreciation for their child's care takers?

My children go to a day care where the parents rotate responsibilities to show 'appreciation' for their child's care takers. Intent is to do something 'special' to express (however remotely we can demonstrate the scale of appreciation) how much we appreciate our care takers/teachers. These appreciation days rotate on a bi-weekly basis in my infant son's room and I have this Friday. The class has three teachers and their charges are all kiddies age 6-12 months. (continued...)
