Apply BT Keyboard & Mighty Mouse with slim PS3

Will an Apple wireless (bluetooth) keyboard and mighty mouse work with the new slim Playstation 3? I have read conversations that go both ways, but they were mostly from 2007 -- something about PS3 not installed with a standard BT keyboard profile, which is what apple's keyboard uses. I'm wondering if anyone has definitive experience with this...

Thanks

Shotgun approach?

Does it hurt to apply for every job opening you qualify for within a government agency? And, would it affect things if there is a wide discrepancy between pay grades (ie, some positions are GS-8, and others GS-4)?

In my head, I can see the same hiring manager initially processing all the applications and thinking, WTF? And perhaps diverting some or all of the applications in a different manner than they would otherwise.

I could also see it not being a problem at all. Does anyone have actual experience/perspective with this?

To apply or not to apply

Should we apply for this store credit card or just pay the cash that we have? My husband and I are both 22 year old working adults with minimal debt. We just purchased our first home at the end of January. We both have credit scores above 750. We just recently got approved for and have used a new credit card with a $7500 limit with no payments or interest for 6 months (through BOA). That card is in both of our names. We each have a card with no more than a $2000 limit also from BOA. The only other cards we have we do not use and have not used in years. (They include a David’s Bridal card, IKEA, & a “funancing” card from GE).

We are getting ready to purchase a table and chair set for our dining room and they (the retailer we are looking into) are offering a credit card that, if approved, offers 0% interest for a year and you get a $25 gc back for every $250 or so spent. We would be getting back roughly $100. So my question is, should we apply? I do not want to do anything to harm my credit score or his. Most of those cards mentioned above are in my name. My husband only has the Visa that has both our names and then his BOA Visa with a $2000 limit. Should we apply under his name?

Thank you so much in advance for any advice!

When to apply for a job?

I'm graduating from college in May and will be entering the real world. I need a job, but how early should I start applying? Help!

I'm all set to graduate this coming May. I need a job once I graduate, and I've begun looking on Monster.com, in my local newspaper, Craigslist, and through my school.

I've found a couple of jobs I'm interested in, but they seem to be looking for applicants who can start within the next month or so - this is not me.

My question to the hive mind is this: when should I start sending my resumes out? Is it too soon to start applying? (And, if I do send out my resume, should I mention in my cover letter that I want to start in May?)

I'm conflicted, because I have friends who already have positions lined up, but others are telling me that it's silly to apply five months early.

(If it helps:

*I'm graduating from Fordham University, with a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration of Entrepreneurism.
*I've got a fairly solid resume and a 3.7 GPA.
*I'm looking to work in the Westchester/Putnam County, NY area, or nearby.
*I'm primarily looking for marketing work, but I'm flexible/desperate.)

Expat/citizenship Filter

Expat/citizenship Filter: Before I became eligible to apply for citizenship in the country I live in, I was all for it. Now that it's six months past my first date of eligibility, I'm not so sure. Anyone else been through this process? Any advice? Any advice or stories from you wonderful Mefites to help a girl make up her mind? I have permanent residency, so it isn't a question of needing to apply to be able to stay. In short, I can't see many practical reasons to apply. The only thing I can't do here is vote, but I can contact my MP if an issue fires me up. If I need to work outside the UK, the company sending me files any necessary visa paperwork for me.

If I were to apply, it would be for personal reasons only, at this point... or because the idea of not having a vote really started to bother me. It was my principal reason for considering an application in the first place, but now I'm not even sure who'd get my vote if I had one. Barring this past presidential election, I already have citizenship in a country where I often hold my nose and vote.

I'm not used to this kind of doldrums, so I fully admit that there might be something going on in the back of my head about commitment to the country I'm in now or conflicted feelings about my home country. The recent changes to immigration law in the UK won't affect my application (aside from the possible new volunteer hours provision). They have left a bad taste in my mouth, though, and brought up all sorts of thoughts about my own foreignness and the shaky sort of acceptance I've been able to win. Just what does that all mean? In other words, a lot of money and hassle and a new passport later, just what will citizenship change?

I'm getting a little tired of questions from friends and family on both sides of the Atlantic asking me about this application. The Americans seem to be divided convinced that I'd be nuts to not grab the chance to get an EU passport and dual citizenship. The Brits seem to be equally divided between people who see it as my final commitment to living here and people who don't understand why I'd want to cement ties to this country.

So, what says the hive mind?

What does a credit approval today say about my formerly-bad credit?

What does it indicate about my formerly-bad credit that I could be accepted today for a regular contract by a cell phone company? How can I tell when it's the right time to apply for a credit card again? I've been repairing my credit for a while now, so this is the first time I've applied for a credit-check-based account in a couple of years. I was approved and I'm excited about that, but I'm wondering what it indicates about how my credit is now. Could cell phone companies be called less picky, more picky or about as picky as other places that check credit, like a credit card company or a landlord? Or is that so much of a generalization that I really can't predict anything?

If it matters, my new phone is with T-Mobile and they said my credit indicates I could have up to three phone lines with them (don't know if that's average, low, or high number for them).

I have a few months before I can request any of my free annual credit reports again, so other than those, what other ways could I check up on my credit?

I know it would be useful to hold a credit card, charging only things I can repay immediately, to further establish good credit. (Last credit card I had was 9 years ago, in college, and I flunked on that one; its balance turned into a chargeoff.) If I should apply now for a credit card, can I pick any kind? I was thinking about one with a points system that rewards something I naturally do (one example is the Amazon card which rewards Amazon buying most).

Why hasn't she... umm.. it... called me yet?

How long after applying for a job should you accept that you're not getting called up for an interview? I applied for a near-close-to-dream job two weeks ago. It's with a giant media corporation, so no human interaction was involved, nor individual e-mail address to send a resume to- just fill out the online application form system, receive confirmation e-mail, wait and hope for the best.

I suppose it's possible to hunt down a phone number for their HR office, but, again, giant media corporation that probably deals with hundreds of these a week, so if anything they might be annoyed if I tried to circumvent what is obviously a system designed to eliminate people like me calling all the time asking about the application I submitted.

I've had little experience in the job application world, and this is one of my first into a private sector as opposed to non-profits- definitely the first time I actually had to dead with an online application form and the mysterious "HR department". Is there a general standard as to how long HR departments usually take to consider an application? I understand I shouldn't expect a call saying I wasn't accepted, but should I be trying to follow-up somehow right now? Or should I start accepting I'm not getting the call?

Apologies, by the way, for making this sound like a girl I met at the bar or something.

Just applied last week for a job I'd really like that I believe I'm well-qualified for. It is in Phoenix AZ (with America West Airlines, if that info helps) and I am in Orem UT. What kind of follow up can I do to make sure that HR and whoever is really making hiring decisions at least notices me and knows I'm genuinely interested, without being annoying?

Options when you don't get accepted to your first choice graduate school?

Graduate school acceptance. Or really, not. I need some advice from all of you over-educated metafilterites. What do you do when you don't get accepted to your first choice graduate school? Besides, obviously, not attend. Have any of you had any luck with reapplying, and if so, what did you change on your application to "do the trick?" Anyone have luck with taking classes as a non-matriculated student just to get your foot in the door? Any advice is much appreciated.
