I just got a subscription to Hulu Plus. I'm trying to get it set up to play on my TV via Apple TV. However, I am not even seeing the Hulu Plus app as an option in my menu when I start up Apple TV. I've restarted my Apple TV device a few times and still not seeing it. It's supposed to be on the second row of the menu, next to Netflix. It is not there. Why is this and how can I fix it?

I have a new (to me -- it's about 10 months old overall, I think) HDTV that, unfortunately, doesn't have an Ethernet port nor does it have wireless connectivity. It was a gift, of sorts, so I'm kind of stuck with it. Since I had a very old standard set, it's still an upgrade. Now, I'm looking at options for HD television content, like maybe the Roku, AppleTV or any other neat solutions that I don't know about yet. [more inside]

We're ditching our cable and researching alternatives.
We have two HD TiVo Series 3 boxes that we're not using (because the cable cards provided by Comcast would not work).
We're thinking of a set-up involving OTA television (we live in Atlanta, so reception should not be a problem) + something streaming, but we're not sure if we want to keep the TiVos or invest in something else -- Roku? Boxee? AppleTV?
And here's one major issue for me -- live sports (mainly the NFL and college football)?

We haven't had a proper TV in over a decade. I would like to have something other than my laptop to watch streaming media, DVDs, Netflix, etc. Can you explain how this works in 2013? I imagine we'd buy something like this Samsung LED HDTV
and some kind of speakers. Then what? Do we plug it into a laptop? What exactly is Apple TV and how does it stack up against Roku? This seems like it should be a simple question, but I feel like a caveman emerging from the dark, and am fairly bewildered at all of the options and variations out there. [more inside]

I have a Sony flatscreen TV: KLV-26HG2 LCD WEGA Color TV. It is a couple of years old. I would like to use Apple TV with it, but the Sony lacks the HDMI port that I need. Is there some sort of device that I could plug into the Sony that would have the HDMI port on the other end, so that I could then plug that into the Apple TV?

How do I get my iMac to wake on demand when it's asleep and asked to do so? These instructions
from Apple are pretty straightforward on how to set it up for Bonjour, but I can't get it to work when it receives a request from Apple TV to wake up. It's an iMac running Lion with a Time Capsule set up as the Base Station. The iMac supports Wake on Demand over Wi-Fi and ethernet (it's connected over Wi-Fi). Time Capsule and Lion have the latest updates. I've found recommendations on Google but nothing has worked. Any troubleshooting pointers? (Bonus question: how can I get it to wake up from outside my network?) Thanks.

I love Netflix and we have it on the Xbox. But my kid's moving to college and taking the Xbox with her. Can I replace it with an Apple TV plus an HDMI->Composite/S-Video converter or should I bite the bullet and get another Xbox? It seems a waste to buy one just for Netflix.

Currently I don't have internet/cable/Sat etc... We borrow my neighbors internet and watch a lot of hulu on a laptop in the bedroom.
We're looking to get Cable, DVR, and cable internet, but the TV is in the Basement. Is there a DVR that is available to stream to the laptop in the bedroom? I've looked at the Slingbox, AppleTV, and XBox360, but can't decide if any of these things will do what I'm wanting.

I just got rid of my cable box, and got a Netflix subscription. I'ts very, well...refreshing. I like Netflix so much that I am contemplating ordering a Roku or AppleTV w/ Boxee. Can anyone share their experience with either/or? I DL'ed Boxee on my Mac, and it's extremely buggy. Is it the same on the AppleTV?

I have a 32" / 81cm enhanced definition widescreen CRT TV. I have an Xbox running XBMC connected via component to watch standard (ie not 720p) TV and DVD rips, letting the Xbox upscale to 720p. Will upgrading to an AppleTV and playing 720p rips dramatically improve the picture, or will I probably not notice any difference on such a small screen? [more inside]

So between Netflix streaming and AppleTV I'm considering dropping cable entirely. Pretty much the only thing holding me back is football. How do you all watch sports? Caveat: I don't have a local sports bar nearby, and honestly I'd rather not spend all day Sunday in a bar.
