WiFi problems on my apple

My iBook AirPort card connects to WiFi ports, but won't successfully connect to any sites. What might be the cause? Any settings to fool around with? Thanks!

wifi card possibilities for an Apple iBook set up to run Yellow Dog

I'm confused by the wifi card possibilities for an Apple iBook set up to run Yellow Dog. I was thinking of installing that particular open source OS, but then realized I'd lose my Airport Extreme support. Isn't the Airport the only card supported by the iBook hardware, or is there some way to finagle YD to run a third party wi card?

OSX Mail Icon

In Apple's OS X, the icon for "Mail" depicts a postage stamp with the words "Hello from C_________." I can't read it. What does it say? It's not Cupertino or California. Or maybe Cocoa?

Can you force an iBook G4 to eject when it thinks it doesn't have a DVD drive and there is no pinhole?

When your iBook G4 loses faith in the idea that it has DVD drive, complaining of an error [-70012] when you stick a DVD in; when even firmware prompt commands like "eject" won't pop it out; when you realize that for purposes of style you have been deprived of a manual-eject pinhole; in such straits, friends, is there any hope of freeing your Digital Versatile Disc of "Spiderman" from the drive?

What's the best way to split a 1.5 GB file onto 3 or 4 CDs using OS X?

Let's say I have an Apple OS X computer with a gigantic, 1.5 GB file that I'd like to put onto 3 or 4 CDs, to give someone. What's the best way to spread a file across several discs? Multiple zip files? The UNIX zip command? Some backup program?
