I'm looking for an Android wifi manager app for my HTC Sensation 4G with a specific feature. When my phone thinks it's connected to a wifi network, it automatically turns off mobile data, which makes sense, as long as it's actually connected. Unfortunately, sometime there's something wrong with the wifi connection or the connection is really crappy, and I can't actually access the internet through it. This means that unless I go turn off wifi, I can't access the internet at all. Is there an app that will automatically switch on mobile data when I can't access the internet through the wifi connection?

This stackoverflow post suggests budgeting $150 per dev hour for a top quality iPhone app, and a total cost, including design, of $50,000 to $150,000 for the project. What can I expect to happen to this cost if the app is meant to link, bi-directionally, to a geodatabase of user observations, and display them over an e.g. google map layer? And how might this change if the app were Android?

I'm looking for a countdown app for the iPhone that does NOT count down to a specific event, using dates. I need to complete 4000 (very small, identical) tasks and I'd like to be able to watch the number go down as I complete those tasks in batches. I work with a lot of teams who do concept development stuff for the web and for general interactive design. I'm always having to find visual references for our discussions and our present system of sharing is clunky and requires us to print stuff out all the time so that we can talk about stuff we like or don't like. This is pretty crazily wasteful as well as the fact that trying to convince graphic designers to get enthusiastic about a reference when they can't help fixating on the icky presentation format is getting annoying.
So, is there an easy and really nice looking app or programme for the Mac that allows you to save and illustrate pictures, web pages, articles and video in a browsable way? Ideally it would be something that was ipad compatible, if only because then it will have to be easily browsable in a visually attractive way. It would also be awesome if it allowed you to collaborate, so we could all contribute to a single place that would be awesome.

There are lots of stock-related iPhone apps available, but either I haven't found the one that does the simple thing I want, or I haven't conquered the learning curves of the ones I've tried to see that they already do it. Very simple requirements inside.

When someone makes an Android/iPhone app that scans a food product's bar code and returns nutrition information on that food from a database, who made that database? I can see Weight Watchers doing their own, but surely not everybody reinvents the wheel on this every time somebody makes an app that does something similar. Does anyone sell access to such a database? If so, who is that?
