I have a large number of books that I want to donate to a library or sell. I want to give my friends and family first pick at anything they want (my primary aim is to quickly reclaim the physical space used up by the books). I need a workflow that will allow me to scan the books' UPCs, etc. with my iPhone 4's camera and end up with an email-able spreadsheet
pre-populated with ISBN/Title/Author. Columns for genre, edition and/or year, and short blurbs would also be welcome.
I have a PC laptop with the MS Office suite in addition to the iPhone. What are my options? Thanks, hivemind!

I would like to find a notetaking application that is flipable. Rather than having to open and close various, lists, tabs or folders of notes I want basically one very long note pad with several pages. Basically I'm hoping to find an app that is exactly like a small paper notebook that you would put in your pocket. It's not one note, it's not ak notes, it's not Evernote. Does anyone have any suggestions? Bonus points if it is sinkable.

Is there an iPhone App that tracks ALL of the following aspects of health: Blood pressure, weight, Type II diabetes, exercise routines and calories (aka food consumption)? There's plenty of apps that track 2 or 3 of these things, but is there one that tracks ALL of them?

Looking for top notch, detailed but fun games to play on an iPod Touch. Games like Tower Defense (Lost Earth) or the Angry Birds series, where you can make progress and pick up from where you left off.
Not games like Temple Run/Jetpack Joyride/Robot Unicorn Attack where you start from scratch every time (even if you do get upgrades or badges). I am not really interested in Plants vs Zombies or Tiny Wings for whatever reason.

My wife and I both have iPhones. We also own two cars. We each drive either of the cars, depending on where we are going and how many kids we're taking. Is there an app that lets us sync fuel records for both cars between both phones, no matter who does the fill-up? How do we synchronize our records?

I manage a non-profit in New Jersey and often need to make a large number of calls in a short time to supporters, clients and/ or donors.
I like to set up a to do list of calls that I can run through and just make call after call to get through my lists as fast as I can. I have an HTC Thunderbolt phone.
I've tried to do lists, but none of the ones I've used are not tied in to the phone dialer. I want to be able to click on a phone number in my list and have it call up the dialer. It'd be awesome if it also tracked my calls on Google Calendar. If there is a to do list app out there that connects to the dialer on Android then I would prefer to use that. But if I have to I'll keep my to do and call lists separate.
Thanks!

Dear Chaps, I have two products, an Excel spreadsheet and a Filemaker Pro database. The excel spreadsheet is for sale to mortgage brokers. It's the kind of thing designed for a user to enter figures and get all kinds of graphs and information based on the data entered. The other is a contact manager database, again designed as an easy-to-use program for the end user. Does it make sense to turn these products into iPhone/Android/Cloud-based apps, and what would be the next steps in doing so? In other words, what exactly would I be turning them into, and whom would I outsource this job to, if it makes economical sense?

I need a pantry/food-inventorying app, and I'm willing to pay for one. We have lots of food stored up, but we don't have a pantry per se. By necessity, the food is dispersed in the basement, kitchen cabinets, closets, etc. Most of it is stuff we would use up pretty quickly if it were convenient -- instead, we can't find it when we need it, or don't know we have it, and end up buying more. There must be an app for this, right?

I just got a Samsung Stratosphere LTE, my first smartphone and first Android device. I'm not looking to use it as a mini computer (i have an iPad for that) but I am interested in how to best use it as a phone and what capabilities or apps are available that don't have an iOS equivalent or work better than their counterparts. What super-neat abilities does a Stratosphere have that might not be immediately apparent?

I'm looking for an android sound profile app that won't crash my phone. Ideally, I would be able to create a profile that had my alarm and ringer at full volume while disabling all other sounds. The last one I tried made my phone run really slowly and freeze intermittently, and a few of the other ones I've looked at don't seem to distinguish between notification types - I need the alarm to be a different control from email alerts and stuff. I'd really appreciate a recommendation! My googling has failed. Thanks in advance, MetaFilters.

There are a lot of iOS apps for timing contractions. The reviews are all over the place. Most of the apps do not seem to time the contractions from the beginning of one to the beginning of the next one, which seems to be the preferred data point for medical purposes. Other apps have other annoying features and problems. Which app did you use and how did it work?
