I've been happily using Slingshot on my Mac for screenshots for years but it's been discontinued and is no longer being updated. What should I replace it with? [more inside]
I'm looking for an app or other software (hopefully available online) that will help me to plan how to put large numbers of chairs, desks and tables and sort/divide them into different rooms. Do you know of any?

We have a couple of hundred storage spaces in our collective workshop, and they're managed on paper, in a folder, on a shelf, at the office. I'd like to digitalise it and add a working waiting list. O hive, bestow your wisdom and deliver us from Excel! [more inside]
I cannot seem to find a good app that will let me: 1) have recurring tasks 2) allow me to check them off as done (like disappear or strike or some other indicator) 3) presented in calendar form (not a "reminders" list). I don't ask for much. I have checked out many many free apps, none of which accomplish what I want. I'm sure this gem is a paid app and I will gladly fork over based on a suggestion, knowing my criteria. I have yet to find one that has all three of these requirements spelled out. Thanks!
I've been using android phones for the past three years. I haven't bought a single app from Google Play store. I'm interested in knowing if there are any paid android apps that would make my life easier.
Music teaching n00b filter. I now have a tablet with ear training software I use in lessons and discovered the kids quite automatically pick up terms like "minor second" which I hadn't dreamt about teaching them yet. Just as they're in the app. Then when they're stuck on a melody on their instrument I say "go up a minor second here" and it works. Holy interval, batman! What are similar ways you use to teach musical concepts without being all obvious about it? Would it be correct to classify this as active/experiental learning and what are your favourite resources? A friend runs a small professional organization with about 60-80 members, and is looking for a way to more easily manage membership. She is hoping to find software or a web service designed to do these things:
- Most importantly: allow members to pay an annual membership fee online. She also needs to be able to look up who has paid and who hasn't.
- Allow members to log in and update contact information and other info (such as number of accredited hours).
- Email all members, download a list of members, and so on.

I need a pantry/food-inventorying app, and I'm willing to pay for one. We have lots of food stored up, but we don't have a pantry per se. By necessity, the food is dispersed in the basement, kitchen cabinets, closets, etc. Most of it is stuff we would use up pretty quickly if it were convenient -- instead, we can't find it when we need it, or don't know we have it, and end up buying more. There must be an app for this, right? [more inside]

I'm looking for a web-based app (free or otherwise) or a hosted app which will handle membership for a non-profit / club. It needs to provide different membership levels, handle payments (via PayPal or Google Checkout), and provide some method for allowing members to renew or upgrade their memberships, change their info as needed, etc. It does not need to be free, even though that would be nice.
