a new study proposes that a 10 minute sprint interval training (SIT) routine provides benefits comparable to a 45 minute moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) routine when performed 3 times a week. I like to try it, but it would be way easier if I could find an app for my phone which would let me enter the time intervals and intensity levels for the routine, as there are 7 intervals in the routine, 3 of them lasting only 20 seconds. Anyone know of an android app which runs user defined, timed routines? All the spin apps I've found want me to pay for a predetermined class.
Is there an iPhone app that can record sound, date and time, and indicate how many decibels the sound being recorded is at? I have an iPhone 6S.
So I was thinking about doing one of those take-one-picture-a-day time lapse videos, but I wanted to also make it a stop motion video too. I'm kind of hoping that there's an Android app that would help me do this. So I'm going to describe what I think the perfect features would be for such a project, and hopefully someone will tell me if there's anything even remotely close to this. [more inside]
I want to drive around my city while an app tracks my route. As I pass certain buildings, I want to be able to touch a button that marks that location on the route, so that I can find those landmarks again later. Does something like this exist? [more inside]
My company's been using Crowdfire to follow people who follow similar organizations, then unfollow them if they don't follow back. I hate how sketchy and janky it is, plus the price. Any alternatives out there that allow you to unfollow/follow users on Instagram and Twitter? [more inside]
I am looking for an Android app that will allow me to scan my recently purchased comic books into a personal database. [more inside]
I'm upgrading from an older 64 GB iPad to a new 32 GB one, so I need to shrink my data; especially stop storing large, seldom-used apps on the device (I can re-download from App Store when needed). What's the best way to keep a handy list of certain specified off-device apps, each linked to its App Store page for convenient re-downloading? [more inside]

I'm developing a vocabulary learning/practicing app for iOS. Please help me come up with a kick-ass name. [more inside]
I have access to a digital piano (Kawai CN24) and wouldn't mind learning to play a few songs. I do not want to learn to read music. Memorization/repetition of a few easy to moderate songs is the goal. What digital or electrical tools are there that might help me accomplish this. Ideally, I'm thinking android or windows tablet applications or maybe a cheaper piece of musical hardware that somehow integrates with the hardware/MIDI outs/ins on the piano in question. I am looking for a web and ios app that combines a To Do list and timesheet. Ideally it would be cheaper than Harvest, which is $12/month and has invoicing features I don't need. Bonus if it works for teams. Suggestions?

I have been tasked with finding a suitable solution, app or application for the fairly simple task of syndicating content to one (initially) and eventually several audience groups. I think there must be myriad ways to do this; I am looking for some suggestions of tools that already do this, either to use or to imitate. [more inside]
I am looking for apps that will let me take handwritten notes in a file/on a PDF and also view two different (arbitrary) parts of those notes/PDFs at the same time. I need this functionality on a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, a Mac running OSX, and an iPad Pro. [more inside]
No sooner had I rewritten my iOS app to rely on the backend service Parse ("hundreds of thousands of developers trust us!" it said on the website) than did Facebook kill it. What should I do? [more inside]
I'm looking for a PDF editor for Mac which allows me to create my own stamp -- and that stamp needs to have editable fields. [more inside]
For years I've been wanting an app that will do these things: 1. Allow me to plan a shortest route between errands, and 2. not require me to tell it exactly where I want to do the errand, but be able to use categories as well as specifics. 3. be very easy to use on a iPhone 5s. 4. also estimate travel time between spots. Does my thing exist? Examples inside - thanks! [more inside]
The new version is very different, all the recommendations I've found just don't work the way I like...various RSS readers mostly. Looking for something that has minimal tapping and swiping while being headline and source dense. The old version was a big grid. There was a similar question last year here but it was for iOS.
I'm looking for an app to log my weightlifting workouts. Think Starting Strength or Bill Starr's 5x5 but with variations. I've tried Strong for iOS and FitNotes for Android. FitNotes is close to my ideal, but I'm not on Android anymore. [more inside]

I need to build an online shopping catalog (No Shopify--not what I'm looking for). I have a couple dozen items in the catalog that come in three colors. I need clients to be able to place orders in large quantities (like 1-250 items) but I'm not concerned about credit card processing. I just want an online app that allows them to view products and submit an initial order that's followed up with a personal phone call that allows me to upsell or suggest alternate product combos or flexible payment arrangement that fit their needs. [more inside]
My wife is tired of coming home to a dark house, and I want something to fiddle with. I'm thinking about getting a "smart" setup of some sort to control the lights (details inside). What's the best overall solution? We're exclusively a Mac/iOS household. [more inside]

There are plenty of tools to help someone build and customize a website without needing to know coding; Wix, Serif, Network Solutions and Go Daddy website builders. Likewise, are there similar tools to help someone build and easily customize mobile apps without knowing code? If so, what and where are they?
It's that time of year when my family and I trade lists of things we could get for one another if we haven't already found something on our own. We usually just do a running email thread, and it devolves into sub threads excluding the person of interest, where all the other family members claim what they're getting or have gotten for the person who isn't on the cc:list. Until of course someone (Mom) replies on the wrong thread, and spills the beans. ;) [more inside]
I subscribe to the NY Times and use their app on my ios 9 device. Lately they've had a randoml auto-playing ad with video and sound either when I open the app or when it refreshes. I work in an environment where I can use a phone to read the news but absolutely cannot suddenly have sound blaring. Will the new ad blocking apps block in-app ads in the Times app? I know I can block in Safari but I use the app to also read the paper on the subway. [more inside]
Basically, I need a step-by-step explanation/tutorial on how to play audio files on my phone (not stream; play from memory). Android. [more inside]

I'm a fan of the vocabulary builder feature on Kindle that stores a list, with definitions, of words looked up while reading. Is there an equivalent for iPhone for web? The vocab builder apps all seem to teach new words; I'm not averse to copying and pasting into the app, as long as it keeps history of searches. Open to any non-app suggestions too. My temporary solution of dumping words + definitions into Notes is not working so well.
I have tons of photos of me and my partner on my iphone and would like to put them all together in a grid fashion (maybe 10x7 photos ish) to then be sent off and printed so i can frame it and give it to her as a present. I would really like an app that would be able to do all of this in one shot but cant seem to see any. Failing that, any other option that is kind of straight forward. Id rather not be messing around with Photoshop templates and stuff if possible.
I like to listen to albums and playlists from my music collection on my iPhone. I don't need a streaming service, or radio, or recommendations, or social networks. I just want a simple user interface that lets me pick out an album (or maybe a playlist) and listen to it. Does such a thing exist for iOS? The built-in music app has gotten way too complicated, and does not work well for me or my family. [more inside]
I've been doing a lot of hands-on failure analysis and inspection for my work, and I need a good way to dictate inspection notes using my iphone. You know in TV when the coroner describes the autopsy as he's doing it? Like that. I'd really prefer it to be an iOS app, but some kind of laptop app would be vaguely acceptable. Specific Required features inside. [more inside]
Unlike the Mac and mobile platforms, Windows 7 doesn't have a native Twitter app other than Tweetdeck. But it appears that it's no longer available and only a web-based version of Tweetdeck exists. Is that the case? What else is there?

I'm creating an activity for a class of grad students where we each create a photo during a class session and then somehow share/compile them in a feed. Is there some app or website platform in which people could individually send or post the photo from their smartphone or computer, and they would appear on one page? Preferably without requiring them to log in or create an account. [more inside]
I need an app to help me organize my folders on my phone and help me know which to delete (I'm an app hoarder who is certain they'll all come in handy) . I remember on PC having a program that broke down how often I used each app and how much space it took up. Stuff like that. Mass deleting the apps that aren't necessary and organizing the ones I want to keep are all things I'd like to be able to do - What's the best app for this?
