I'm looking for an app/program/spreadsheet/whatever that stores a grocery inventory with quantities, and a list of recipes (or just named sets of ingredient quantities). It would rank the recipes by % of ingredients on hand. If any part of this makes you think, "you could do that bit in [program] with/by [method]", I appreciate any pointers! Because I'll make it if I can't find it, but I'm not sure where to start. [more inside]
Looking for an overall hardware and software package, that also includes barcode scanner app which can be installed on Android or iPhones [more inside]
This is a long shot, but since I learned about the Glass planner app here, I thought maybe someone here can answer a question or two about it. It looks like everything I’ve been wanting in a to-do app, except that I can’t get it to play nice with Google Calendar. This is on an iPhone. [more inside]
I'm looking for an online app that will help me coordinate and schedule my book club meetings. Preferably free (or less than $10/month). My book club started on Meetup.com, which made sense when we were still new and growing. We have a good solid membership now so I was thinking of taking us off Meetup (which charges $10/month). I'd like to still have some type of online meeting management, however. Have you used a book club (or group meeting) app that you liked? [more inside]
Hi there! My boyfriend and I would like to be able to do the NYTimes crossword puzzle together, even though we are in different cities. He already has the app, so we are looking for a free way to share or mirror screens on our iPhones. [more inside]
So, I've been tasked with finding an app my co-workers can install on their phones for an upcoming event to scan people's QR codes on their badges. My co-workers are generally not technical people, so it should be very easy to use. Must work on iOS and Android. [more inside]
VPN doesn't appear to be routing to the country I want it to, why? [more inside]
Is there an app out there for me? I love the cloud aspect, the ease of use, the beauty+responsiveness+simplicity+speed of the UI... I don't need a complex project management system. Relatedly, an app like Wunderlist is not what I'm looking for -- it is too "to-do listy". I think Evernote might be the closest?
Is there a maps app that will give me time/traffic estimates on the route of MY choice? [more inside]
Looking for an Android app that will let me track my daily activities. Oops but here comes a special boy: instead of having to remember to start/stop a timer manually, I would like the app to ping me every 15 minutes (or some customizable interval) and ask me what I'm doing. [more inside]
The only thing preventing me from upgrading to Windows 10 is the new built-in Photos app. The Photos app from Windows 8 is exactly suited to my needs, and I would like to keep it. Is this possible? [more inside]
My 7-year-old is interested in using her Android tablet to make stop-motion animated videos. There are lots of apps out there that can help do this - which one do you recommend? [more inside]
What's the best Twitter app for iOS these days? I have been using the official app but the increasing amount of ads is getting to me. One feature that it does well is let me hide thumbnails in tweets. Is there an alternate app that gives that option? I've seen Tweetbot and Twitterific mentioned, but don't have any experience with either. Thanks!
My teacher has helped me work out some areangements of public domain pieces suitable for use by an adult onset harper (me). My messy notation is holding me back. Exists there a simple program to let me enter my scrawly notes and produce a tidy, easily read sheet of music? [more inside]

Are any of the Android mobile clients for JIRA worth a darn? I’d like to both have a bit of a smoother browsing experience on the phone than is provided by the mobile site, and to be able to submit issues without a lot of pain. (If there were a version of OctoDroid for JIRA I’d be delighted.) Gobs & gobs of money might be an object, but small sums are not. Thanks!
I love love love Yourself!Fitness, but it doesn't work on my new PC. Are there other apps (Windows/Android) which have the same features? Namely, that you can set/choose: duration, equipment, type of exercise (cardio/strength/stretch), and difficulty level. Plus it always gives you randomized exercises, so the workout is never completely the same. I'd like something where I can press "start" and just go, without having to look up different exercises or download videos, and it would give me a long-term program, so I can gradually level up. I write best while I'm walking, and for an upcoming project I'd like to streamline this using some sort of speech-to-text word-processing setup on my Google Nexus phone. Google's native voice recognition in Docs hates my voice and produces only large paragraphs of semipunctuated gibberish. What app(s) + accessories setup will give me accurate, extended voice-to-text transcription with minimal oversight, ideally also with good punctuation functionality? [more inside]
My colleague is based in Kenya and has badly torn up his shoulder. We are looking for solution for him to work on the computer. He has an iPhone and uses a PC. The Dragon app is only for US and Canada. Can you recommend a solution he can try before he buys that will be available to him in his location? This is rather urgent. Thank you.

a new study proposes that a 10 minute sprint interval training (SIT) routine provides benefits comparable to a 45 minute moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) routine when performed 3 times a week. I like to try it, but it would be way easier if I could find an app for my phone which would let me enter the time intervals and intensity levels for the routine, as there are 7 intervals in the routine, 3 of them lasting only 20 seconds. Anyone know of an android app which runs user defined, timed routines? All the spin apps I've found want me to pay for a predetermined class.
Is there an iPhone app that can record sound, date and time, and indicate how many decibels the sound being recorded is at? I have an iPhone 6S.
So I was thinking about doing one of those take-one-picture-a-day time lapse videos, but I wanted to also make it a stop motion video too. I'm kind of hoping that there's an Android app that would help me do this. So I'm going to describe what I think the perfect features would be for such a project, and hopefully someone will tell me if there's anything even remotely close to this. [more inside]
I want to drive around my city while an app tracks my route. As I pass certain buildings, I want to be able to touch a button that marks that location on the route, so that I can find those landmarks again later. Does something like this exist? [more inside]

I'm upgrading from an older 64 GB iPad to a new 32 GB one, so I need to shrink my data; especially stop storing large, seldom-used apps on the device (I can re-download from App Store when needed). What's the best way to keep a handy list of certain specified off-device apps, each linked to its App Store page for convenient re-downloading? [more inside]

I have access to a digital piano (Kawai CN24) and wouldn't mind learning to play a few songs. I do not want to learn to read music. Memorization/repetition of a few easy to moderate songs is the goal. What digital or electrical tools are there that might help me accomplish this. Ideally, I'm thinking android or windows tablet applications or maybe a cheaper piece of musical hardware that somehow integrates with the hardware/MIDI outs/ins on the piano in question.
