I am looking for a to-do list app that omits some common functionality in favour of not-so-common functionality. It can be Android or PC, but I don't have an iWhatever so that's out. Ideally the task list could be shared between phones and/or PCs. I've checked out any.do, habitica, todoist and a few others and they don't do what I want as far as I can tell. [more inside]
I'm looking for apps that will help me communicate with a deaf friend. Are there apps that will add subtitles to real life, so that he can read what's being said during group conversations? Also, is there a way to video chat with captioning, so that he can skype someone in real-time? [more inside]
I like movies, tv, books and music. Is there an iPhone App that lists upcoming items in these (and/or other) categories, allows me to select favorites and then will send me a notification a week or two before said media becomes available? Yeah, I can go through various websites for movies or tv and then add'em to a watch list, but ideally, I'd like it all in one website or app. [more inside]
You use an Android Home Inventory App and you love it (or at least like it) - please tell me about it. [more inside]
I need pedometer app for Android (for a Google Pixel) that not only counts steps, but keeps an average of steps/day over the past 30 days like Apple Health used to on my iPhone. [more inside]
I need a reliable, robust app (or way) to upload an enormous amount of photos from my Mac to my Flickr Pro account. Suggestions or ideas? [more inside]
I need suggestions for a twitter app that would just let me type what I want, then then automatically post it broken into two tweets if need be. Is there one that does that? Someone suggested Hootsuite to me, but it doesn't do what I want it to. I use android. [more inside]
I’d like to be periodically reminded me of various life lessons I’ve learned and/or inspirational quotes – things that I don’t need to reminded of constantly, but if left long enough, I will forget. I was wondering if there was an Android app that could help me do this. [more inside]
Does anybody have any experience with working with with an in-person dietitian or subscribing to a dietitian app (like mydietitian.com or noom)? I'm looking to lose 10-15 pounds, feel better, and avoid overeating/snacking habits. I'm willing to pay for these services, but I'm not sure what's worth the money or how to get the most value for my money. Any suggestions, reviews, or relevant stories/experiences welcome!
I was using some chat software in my app called Sendbird until the price went through the roof. Does anyone know of any low-budget alternatives for giving you the server part of chat? [more inside]
My child wants to play Go, the game with black and white tokens, on my iPad. I want an app that will allow them to play games and also teach the game. I am willing to pay for a good app. Does this exist?
I'm looking for an app/webpage/program that allows a group of individuals to track regular goals together--something that allows a manager to set up the different tasks for each group member on a daily/weekly/monthly basis and then allows each group member to share when they have completed a task. What can you recommend? [more inside]
Basically it goes like this. I've got like 30 tasks that have to be done. They all have durations of 2 to 4 days each. Is there some program that just generates that and populates it onto a calendar of some kind? I don't want to do this as a google calendar or link it to my ical. I'm looking for some intuitive interface that, when things go sideways and it takes and extra day, bumps everything else down a bit.
Is there an android or Browser app that will let me remotely control my PC at home? Most of the Android options I see are for a phone running on the same network and can only access a minimum of apps on the desktop. I'd like full remote desktop access from an android app. [more inside]
We're building an iPhone app, and just decided to do Android version. Problem: no one on the team owns one. App aims for full compatibility with v5, and decent compatibility with v.4.4 (that's not up for discussion). I need to buy 5 or so phones for testing, preferably older ones so we can detect lag. We'll use wi-fi only. Please suggest models (preferably a diverse spread), or even specific deals. If we can add 1 semi-modern model without paying $$$, that would be great (maybe cracked screen or poor cell function?). [more inside]
Like many people, I'm trying to call my elected officials much more frequently and I'd like to have an app to help me, and to track my calls. I haven't found anything- the closest was Countable which helps you email your reps about active bills. [more inside]
Is there a dating app for people who want to go on a date, like, now/tonight? I know it sounds like I'm literally just describing a hookup app, but that's not at all what I want. [more inside]

What I want is simple: I pluck the guitar string (or make some other sound), and the app tells me the frequency in Hz. [more inside]
Baby Kitty is rocking the solid food, and Mr. Kitty and I prefer to make it ourselves. We have little ball 4oz storage jars that we keep in our chest freezer and defrost for meals, but we lose track of how many we have of each food type and will run out of favorites. Is there a good recommended app that will log when a solid food was created, used, and provide alerts when certain categories (ie pears & sweet potatoes) drop below a pre-determined minimum.
I'm making my first android app, a dinner party murder mystery complete with minigames, and I want to add a "fingerprint database" check, as shown here. The screen currently features a small picture of the FBI logo, and the text will make reference to the FBI. Is this within the bounds of fair use? [more inside]
I lost a lot of documents from the Notes app on my mid-2012 Macbook Air. Is there ANY way they are recoverable? [more inside]
I currently use the Bluefire reading app on my Android device, but it has two problems that make me want to kill it with the fire of a thousand suns and two other minor problems that only make me want to maim it a bit with a yellow flame, so I am looking for a replacement that does good things it does and doesn't do bad things it does. I am looking for a health/fitness app to use to encourage some needed lifestyle changes. I want it to be fun, set challenges, track food, and be competitive among a small group of friends. [more inside]
I have an iPhone 6s Plus, which has become pretty much my only camera for the last several months. I actually like it a lot and have been learning to get some photos out of it that I really like. However, I'd like to have more control over the camera settings than I get from the default app. Is there an app that does this well? [more inside]
My church kids love my Apple Watch, but unfortunately, there isn't a lot of flashy stuff to show them anymore. I need recommendations for an app/game appropriate for 3-5 year olds, so something really really simple like a sound effects board or drawing program. Something with big buttons, lots of colors, and preferably sound effects!
I enjoy spin class but want to be able to bike on my own at the gym. Are there any cycling apps (iOS) out there that provide audio cues? With or without music, with or without tracking. Maybe it's a podcast or YouTube series instead?

I would like to record multiple instances of an event on my iPhone. This event happens several times a day, at more-or-less random times. I would like to be able to do something very simple (like touch an icon on my phone screen) to note that "this happened now" and then to go back over time and see each occasion (with date and time info) when the event happened. [more inside]
I'm looking for an app/program/spreadsheet/whatever that stores a grocery inventory with quantities, and a list of recipes (or just named sets of ingredient quantities). It would rank the recipes by % of ingredients on hand. If any part of this makes you think, "you could do that bit in [program] with/by [method]", I appreciate any pointers! Because I'll make it if I can't find it, but I'm not sure where to start. [more inside]
Looking for an overall hardware and software package, that also includes barcode scanner app which can be installed on Android or iPhones [more inside]
This is a long shot, but since I learned about the Glass planner app here, I thought maybe someone here can answer a question or two about it. It looks like everything I’ve been wanting in a to-do app, except that I can’t get it to play nice with Google Calendar. This is on an iPhone. [more inside]
I'm looking for an online app that will help me coordinate and schedule my book club meetings. Preferably free (or less than $10/month). My book club started on Meetup.com, which made sense when we were still new and growing. We have a good solid membership now so I was thinking of taking us off Meetup (which charges $10/month). I'd like to still have some type of online meeting management, however. Have you used a book club (or group meeting) app that you liked? [more inside]
Hi there! My boyfriend and I would like to be able to do the NYTimes crossword puzzle together, even though we are in different cities. He already has the app, so we are looking for a free way to share or mirror screens on our iPhones. [more inside]
So, I've been tasked with finding an app my co-workers can install on their phones for an upcoming event to scan people's QR codes on their badges. My co-workers are generally not technical people, so it should be very easy to use. Must work on iOS and Android. [more inside]

Is there an app out there for me? I love the cloud aspect, the ease of use, the beauty+responsiveness+simplicity+speed of the UI... I don't need a complex project management system. Relatedly, an app like Wunderlist is not what I'm looking for -- it is too "to-do listy". I think Evernote might be the closest?
Is there a maps app that will give me time/traffic estimates on the route of MY choice? [more inside]
Looking for an Android app that will let me track my daily activities. Oops but here comes a special boy: instead of having to remember to start/stop a timer manually, I would like the app to ping me every 15 minutes (or some customizable interval) and ask me what I'm doing. [more inside]
The only thing preventing me from upgrading to Windows 10 is the new built-in Photos app. The Photos app from Windows 8 is exactly suited to my needs, and I would like to keep it. Is this possible? [more inside]

What's the best Twitter app for iOS these days? I have been using the official app but the increasing amount of ads is getting to me. One feature that it does well is let me hide thumbnails in tweets. Is there an alternate app that gives that option? I've seen Tweetbot and Twitterific mentioned, but don't have any experience with either. Thanks!
