I finally made the jump to a prosumer camera (Sony NEX-6), mainly to take pictures of my painfully photogenic boy. Now I'm faced with a dilemma of what to do with the photos. I currently use iPhoto, rather messily, and am looking at Aperture vs. Lightroom as my next step.

I have a folder full of images -mostly jpeg but some RAW (I'm on a Mac, OS X 10.6.4)- that I exported from Aperture on an older machine. Like a fool, I grabbed all the jpegs in the Aperture vault in Finder and dragged them to a new folder, and now it turns out that I have several versions of each photograph. How do I find the largest/best version of each image and discard the rest?

I just noticed that using the programmed exposure on my d80 with two different lenses at the same aperture produces different shutter speeds - even though the scene is the same.

I tried out Apple's Aperture for a month to see if I liked it and if it saved any time, but now that iPhoto 6 is out, I'd like to go back to iPhoto which runs loads faster on my iMac. This means I have about a month's worth of photos in Aperture I'd like to salvage in iPhoto. What I can't figure out is how to export photos from Aperture into iPhoto, instead of vice versa. Any tips?
