My apartment manager has been coming into my unit to show it unannounced several times now, after I've submitted my 30 day move-out notice. I have less than a week left at the building - besides it being an inconvenience (and just seriously annoying on a personal level), is there any point to complaining at this time? [more inside]

I'm looking to rent an apartment in Montreal (Plateau area) coming from the US - so, lacking a Canadian credit score, Canadian references, etc. Should I be saving up to pay several months of rent from the start? Is it a common practice? Also, what could I do or bring with me during the apartment hunt to look as polished as possible? [more inside]
