I have been looking online for a specific service and came across a company that I had utilized 3 years before. All of the reviews were 5 stars. If I want to leave a review (not a good review) I need to log in to the googles. Is there any chance of blowback for me? [more inside]
A friend from work (Rachel) disclosed to one of her close friends (Monica) that someone on her team (Phoebe) had expressed suicidal ideation that was becoming seriously concerning. Monica works at another location, so Rachel talked with Monica in order to get advice on how to report her concern while remaining anonymous, avoiding blowback, and keeping the trust of her team-mate. Instead, Monica immediately reported her concern to the regional manger, Phoebe was immediately suspended and told Rachel reported her. Blowback has ensued. How does my friend deal with this perceived lack of professionalism? [more inside]

What is a chat/IM program, that doesn't require giving away personal details, such as either your google ID or your phone number, to the other party? Cross-platform (including Windows PC), like Viber, but I understand that program requires sharing phone numbers. So I want to live chat to someone, sometimes on android phone, sometimes on iPad, or iPhone, or Windows PC, and we have each others email addresses, but no more than that.

Circa 2010 I saw a video of a talk on dangers of twitter and hacktivism. The man giving this presentation gave an example of a tweet that angered hacktivists. One of them doxxed the twitter user and found out his/her address. A flash mob of angry people showed up at the doorstep. But the wrong address had been used. Then someone died (the homeowner? someone in the crowd? I can't recall.) [more inside]

To be honest, I don't want to do any family/friends crowd-funding. I'm more interested in offering a design/art service--like "your name written in calligraphy" or "an ink drawing of your face"-- for a price that will be donated to charity. But how does one go about such a campaign and what are the best venues for such an endeavor? [more inside]

I'm planning a workshop for my colleagues with various exercises. In one exercise, each person will have a stack of index cards. We will focus on a person in the group, everyone will write that person's strengths/weaknesses on one of their index cards, move to the next person, repeat. How can this process be anonymized as much as possible? I'd like people to feel comfortable and be completely honest. Their handwriting, unfortunately, will ruin anonymity. Also, I'd rather not involve technologies like computers.
Atheist and alcoholic I need to seek support from AA. Please interpret aspects of the higher power stuff in a way that is not cognitively dissonancing for someone who has no belief in a deity. I know there are other options for "rational" alcoholics but my circumstances and location make AA the best option. Feel free to include scripts and behaviours for me to respectfully avoid participating in group prayer (and hand holding - im really uncomfortable with touching strangers) without drawing excessive notice to myself. I am in Australia which is not overtly religious but the two AA meetings I have been to previously (and will be attending) included a prayer, and people who explicitly said they were not religious but recommended the higher power as crucial in their sobriety.

I'm handling the image permissions process for an academic text that will be published with a major university press early next year, and this is one of the images that the author really wants to include. She originally found it on Facebook when a contact of hers posted it on their wall. I predictably haven't had any luck sourcing it via a reverse image search – the only relevant link that Google returned was to this Twitter account. My previous image licensing expertise has all involved credited photographers and artists, so this intersection with the intentionally anonymous politics of Anonymous has left me scratching my head. How and where would I go to extend my search for a high-res "original", and if obtainable, how would we go about clearing it for publication? Thanks in advance for your help!

Looking for a website that lets me do this: For a set group of people, each submits a message. You can see who's sent a message, but not what the contents of the message are. When everyone's submitted a message, all the messages are revealed. This is for an online Magic: the Gathering tournament - we're having everyone submit an entry before anyone sees what anyone else submitted.
