Trying to remember a Saturday morning T.V. show, my brain dump is inside: [more inside]
I recall vivid fragments of a short film that used to be shown as filler on Showtime or Cinemax during the mid 80s (?), around the same time they would show the evolution segment of Allegro non troppo. It was drawn in a minimalist wiggly thickly inked style. The protagonist was a very thin guy in a ridiculously broad suit of armor. He escapes the "boss battle" by slipping out the back of his armor. The princess runs to hug the empty suit of armor and plummets off a cliff. I recall it as being mostly white backgrounds and the transitions were ink splotches. Dialogue was minimal or non-existent. Can you name this short?

In the mid to late 1960s, early morning Saturday television included -- I believe in the very early morning, before the regular Tom and Jerry etc -- a Japanese animated series that looked nothing like contemporary anime. It was all set in a regal Japanese past with women wearing kimonos, ornate animation of detailed old-fashioned Japanese houses, etc. The only possible detail we have is a faintly remembered character name that was something like "Shushan." Is there any possible way to find out what this show was? Any suggested googling hints?

animated 1970s tv series about U.S. History? this is NOT the schoolhouse rock episodes. the one i am remembering was more serious, working through historical situations with animated scenes. the episode i remember most vividly was about the British burning the white house. does anyone else remember this series and what the name of it was?? might have been made around the bicentennial, but not sure.

Looking for a short animated film -- possibly from a Spike n' Mike's collection. I think it's called The Gift or something like that. The main character is a man who lives by himself in some barren, isolated place -- probably outer space. His only companion is a sorta-anthropomorphized tomato plant. The man is starving and has nothing to eat. When his back is turned, the tomato plant produces a tomato, but he doesn't see it, so he (sadly, reluctantly) eats the tomato plant. Later, he sees the tomato and realizes that he didn't have to eat his friend. This is the saddest film ever! Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. I've been looking for it forever, but can't seem to find it. Any idea what it's called or where I can find it?

Anybody remember the name of an animated film from the 1990's about a bird that escaped from a cage? Was very detailed and colorful, with lots of intricate patterns and ornamentation on things. I think it aired on VH1 (back when it still played music) and was French Canadian based on the credits. Story was engaging and very easy to follow, although nobody spoke. Emotion and plot were conveyed strictly through music.

It's an animated short from (probably) Liquid Television in the early nineties. It's got explorers on ships that find a new world and change the natives with religion and money. It's backed by an old song in Spanish from a scratchy record that I can remember no words to. [more inside]
This has been driving me crazy, and I'm obviously a weaker google user than I thought. I used to watch a cartoon on Saturday mornings and I have no idea what it was, or even if it was real. My recollection is hazy and may incorporate any number of other childhood memories and red herring elements, but I'm hoping someone can help me out! [more inside]

A few years ago I saw a music video with a female singer whose face had been blue screened into a animated scifi setting. The video was very cool despite its somewhat "Clutch Cargo" (or Johnny Chimpo if you prefer) vibe. Anybody have any idea what song it is?
A while back, on this site, some lovely soul posted a YouTube link of a very strange full-length animated sci-fi film from the 70s. The story involved men being kept as playthings/servants by a giant race on a strange planet. The humans wore some sort of collar that restricted their movements. It was a very unusual film, quite obviously NOT North American. I believe the original film was French and that it had not been available for many years. Can anyone recall the name of this film? Much thanks :)
