About a week ago I was diagnosed as hypokalemic by a Boston-based Masshealth doctor. Unfortunately, while treating the hypokalemia, the doc rode right over my medical context, which is to say long-standing hypothyroidism, angioedema, and hypoglycemia. Then, to add insult to injury, he decided I fit into the one medical box I don't actually fit into: Anorexia!
How do I replace this foolish doc, with a more analytical MassHealth-approved variety? And who knows something about some blend of the low potassium, high-swelling-and-inflammation, high-protein-or-crash, hypothyroid experience? [more inside]
