.... But I don't want to share by email....

My Nexus 4 phone (running Android 4.4) has started insisting that when I want to share a page via Chrome, I HAVE to do it via email. I've tried resetting defaults in Chrome and email, and uninstalling the updates, but it still keeps insisting if I want to share, I have to do it via email - whereas before, it'd allow me to decide which service to share to. Any idea what else I can do ?!

Smartphones for couples - same OS?

I'm planning on getting my very first smartphone pretty soon. One of the ways that people seem to use phones (a lot? sometimes?) involves syncing info between couples: schedules, grocery lists, to-do lists, tracking the other person's phone to tell that they're stuck in traffic, etc. Is this really useful? Does wanting this mean I should get an iPhone (like my husband) or can I do Android? [more inside]

Is my phone replacement a dud?

Android App for battery usage/management for older, non-technical user

I'm helping an older gentleman get going with his first smart phone. He is traveling without a car, camping without power, battery consumption management on the phone is CRITICAL. Free would be nice, but willing to pay for a SIMPLE app that does what he needs without confusing him with bells and whistles. [more inside]

Temporary move from Android to Blackberry - freaking out...

In a vain attempt at not spending lots of money, I attempted to replace a cracked screen on my Galaxy S3 and managed to make it way worse. I've had an Android phone for the last few years so am used to being able to being able to have a wide choice of free apps. Once I get over the shock of being so limited, what apps to I need? I can't even find a podcast app... It's a Blackberry 9900 and I'm in the UK. Thanks in advance.

It's App-ademic

I recently bought a Nexus 7 (I love it!) as a companion to academic work. I've primarily been using Google apps for communication and collaboration over Drive and Gmail, in addition to traditional tablet tasks like web browsing and social media. However I'm less than impressed with the bundled PDF reader, and would really like suggestions (first) about good .pdf reading software that allows for rich annotations in documents. Secondly, I'm interest in any productivity apps for Android tablets that others have used for academic / writing / office style work. [more inside]

Can I fix this, or do I need to suck it up and get a new phone?

I've had my phone (a Samsung Galaxy S Blaze) for about a year and a half, and it is no longer under warranty. Recently, it has developed two problems relating to aspects of the hardware. I need to determine if I (a person with little to no experience with fixing electronics) can fix these problems inexpensively, or if I should just bite the bullet and buy a new phone. (I'm a student, so buying a new phone after less than two years is not something that makes my wallet happy.) [more inside]

How to make an application work again on a Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet?

My Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet updated itself yesterday. Android App Search

Android App Search Question: I'm looking for a specific type of Android app (a music player which has a large "time elapsed" display). I'm new to the world of apps, and am completely confused as to how to sort the apps in the Play Store and even begin to narrow down the options. It looks like the only search criteria are "Free" or "Paid" - either way, I get like a bajillion returns. Am I missing something? How do folks either (a) narrow down your searches, or (b) navigate the overwhelming choice?
