I have a Moto G running Android 4.4.4 that has a bad habit of occasionally deleting an app without provocation. This is a small bother normally (I just re-download the app), but this time, it has deleted Google Play Services, which is necessary for all kinds of things. How do I fix it? [more inside]
I really enjoyed playing The Silent Age last night. I'd like to find more games like it, i.e., games that have no time limit, that essentially just let you explore a place until you complete a narrative. I also liked that no particular dexterity was required. What are your favorites?
I've had my phone (a Samsung Galaxy S Blaze) for about a year and a half, and it is no longer under warranty. Recently, it has developed two problems relating to aspects of the hardware. I need to determine if I (a person with little to no experience with fixing electronics) can fix these problems inexpensively, or if I should just bite the bullet and buy a new phone. (I'm a student, so buying a new phone after less than two years is not something that makes my wallet happy.) [more inside]
I got them ol' wifi blues: I took the plunge and bought a Nexus 7, primarily to use for reading textbooks. While it works great on my home wifi, at school, it is unable to connect (apparently Jelly Bean and enterprise wifi don't play nice). Can you help me identify what's causing the problem and fix it? If I get a Google Nexus 7, will I be able to use it to reliably read textbooks? My college primarily uses Pearson textbooks for the courses I'm taking. Does anyone have experience with those textbooks on an Android tablet? [more inside]
Why is my HTC Magic (branded T-Mobile MyTouch 3G) restarting every time I try to do anything on my phone? [more inside]
I am interested in creating a simple Android app for my own private use, but never having created such a thing before, I'm rather overwhelmed by the dev info. Can you guide me? Or is there a simpler way of doing this that doesn't involve creating an app? [more inside]
I've got an HTC Magic (also known by the execrable name myTouch 3G) running Android 1.6 from T-Mobile. I also have a MacBookPro running OS 10.4.11. Does a tethering program exist that will let me use my phone to supply an internet connection for my computer? It seems that I can't use PdaNet (my computer would need to be a PC, or I would need a phone running Android 2.0). Do any other good programs exist that fit my specifications?
