At a recent visit to my nearest Six Flags ("Fiesta Texas") I started to notice signs for fake histories of fake towns across the park. Is just a feature of my park, or do ones you've been to have them, too? If so, what are they? [more inside]

Does anyone know anything about the abandoned amusement park Lincoln Park, in Dartmouth, MA just outside New Bedford? I am specifically looking for directions there - I drove there this morning and could see the abandoned Comet rollercoaster from afar but could NOT figure out how to get onto the property except by climbing the fence on Route 6. I'm supposed to have photographs from this site tomorrow: HELP! Of course any other histories, memories, etc would be great, too. Thanks hive!

Hi All. I am doing research on old Coney Island, Dime Museums, and the history of disaster spectacles. Do any of you know of any books or sources where I could find out more information or, better yet, images relating to these topics? Thank you!

CHATFILTER: Looking for games of the 'exquisite corpse' variety that can be played by adults and require nothing more than creativity and intelligence. Ideally, we'd even dispense with pen and paper. [more inside]

Let's say that I love Audium, the Tonga Room and Lucky Juju. Where else in the Bay Area has that same kind of fun, atmospheric, anachronistic vibe? [more inside]

Is there any way I can find attendance statistics for amusement parks? Planning a trip to Six Flags here in Maryland. My theory: July 5th would be a good day to go. It's my belief that people are more likely to take off Friday for a 4 day weekend, than a Tuesday, and other's would be lees likely to take a day off, since it's just after a holiday, so July 5th would be less crowded than normal. Everyone else seems to think I'm crazy and that any day near a holiday would be a mess.
If no one knows where I can get statistics, I will certainly accept opinions on the validity/insanity of my theory.
