New 10" Speaker Recommendation

What replacement speaker should I get for my amp? I have a Music Man 110 RD 50 that I love with my whole heart. I think she's got a blown speaker. What new speaker (manufacturer/model) should I buy to retain the original tone as closely as possible? Thanks - j

Home Theatre Nerd Forum?

Recommend me an excellent home theatre forum and/or standalone DTS decoder. I've been building stereo speakers for a while and my current project is a 6.2 system with 3-way active crossovers on each of the 6, which means I can't make use of the usual receiver-inna-box with integrated amplifiers.

What I would like is a receiver with all the usual bells and whistles but no amplifiers. I'm aware of the Technics SH-AC500D but would like something a bit more modern, more than 5.1 channels and with support for the newer stream formats. HDMI video-signal switching and CEC etc would also be good.

If you've got a receiver recommendation, that's cool, otherwise I want to know where knowledgeable people (enginerds!) hang out to talk about HT stuff - something like diyaudio.com but not aimed at speaker design.

Speaker Output of Amp A to RCA Input of Amp B

Is there any way I can take the speaker output from underpowered combo CD/ amp A and run it into the RCA input of power amp B? If not, what is the difference between what is running out of a speaker output vs what is running out of an RCA output?

Which is the best speaker for my bass amp?

Bass Amp Filter: 2 x 10 or 1 x 15? Hi,

For live performances, I'm thinking or purchasing the new Ampeg BA600 combo amp which comes in both a 2 x 10" speaker version and a 1 x 15" speaker version.

My main experience has been with a high end 4 x 10" speaker and separate amp, which I love, but for me in the end it's all about the deep low end. I play sixties and seventies style funk and soul music and I really dig that traditional fat sound. I know, I know, I should buy a vintage tube amp. But if you forget about that for a moment, which speaker should I choose in my new combo amp?

(and, yes, although I should probably try it out first, I still appreciate your advice).

Thanks!

'cause I sleep with 'lectric guitars...

Is a Fender Hot Rod (1x12) the best (tube) amp I can get for the amount of money I want to spend (~$400) and the power I want (>15 watts)? Right now I have a Princeton 112+, which is 'all right,' but has a few problems, especially with the input jacks (which are, thanks to modern technology, very tough to fix), and the sound isn't really much to talk about. I've really liked the sound of a Blues Jr. (which I had in my dorm room almost all the time this year, but I didn't own), and would like something really solid. I have an American Tele which I will never part with, and I'd like sort of the same thing, as far as quality.

Oh, and it's for 'indie rock,' and will also probably be used for my other instruments (ukulele, synth, 'laptop')

I've heard good things about the Peavey Classic series? I could go a bit above 400 if I love something, but that's the artificial price limit I've set in my mind.
