I'm hoping to find a pdf or image of the old Shearson Lehman/American Express ad featuring the following quotation:
"Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality. It is the words that speak boldly of your intentions. And the actions that speak louder than the words. It is making the time when there is none. Coming through time after time, year after year. Commitment is the stuff character is made of, the power to change the face of things. It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism."
So far google has failed me, anyone happen to have it lying around? Or know any more information? (e.g. what magazine(s) it appeared in? What year?)

Logic board died on my friend's two-year-old MacBook (one year out of warranty). Should she pay for repair ($700 + labor), or sell the carcass for parts and buy, say, a used iBook? [more inside]

So I have an American Express Gold Card. Now what?
Reading the promotional materials makes me feel like I've been living in a cave, and not in a good way. I only signed up for it because I was offered a free miniature radio for filling out the application. [more inside]

Can I keep doing this and apply for more of their credit cards and keep getting instantly approved? Does this sound like a really bad idea to anyone else?... It's so tempting though... [more inside]

Five years ago almost to the day, American Express decided to no longer cover credit card transactions from p9rn sites, claiming that business with such sites carried unacceptably high incidence of disputes about transactions.. Other credit card companies decided not to, ahem, pull out. Today, the AmEx decision still stands. After five years, can we say that American Express got... stiffed? Or were they right in the first place and the other companies got... screwed?
