I'm thinking of buying a laptop, and find that at sites like CNET, the editors and users often disagree wildly. I haven't found a place that reviews laptops that can sort reviews by the users' rankings. I tried amazon, but their "sort by average customer review" doesn't work. Which sites do you like? I'm looking for some best practice advice in moving my iTunes music and my iPhoto images off my local hard drive. The 160GB drive on my Macbook is about full. I know I can use a USB/Firewire/Network-attached external hard drive, but has anyone had luck using a service such as Amazon's S3 for this. I know if works fine for storing the files, but how usable is it to actually 'get' the files? [more inside]

A few days ago my wife and I decided to pop down to Brighton for a break. She booked the trip on her home computer and I looked at a few pictures on flickr and checked askmefi for what to see using mine.
Today, Amazon is recommending me Brighton travel books. How did they know?

I have a television shipping from Amazon, by way of a company called Eagle USA. This is apparently a delivery service where they'll bring the television up to my apartment, plug it in, make sure it works, etc. I'm wondering is if a tip is customary for this type of service, and if so, how much (total/per person)? It's a 42" TV that weighs about 80 lbs, and I live on the 3rd floor of a walk-up building. Thanks!

I enjoy finer things, and like to laugh at crappy stuff. Is there any way to search amazon to bring up the best or worst products (in a category or overall)? A list of "all 5-star products" would be too crude, so I'm thinking, search for the combination of higest rating with most reviews, or lowest rating with most reviews.

In Firefox 2.0, Amazon will not load for me. It doesn't time out, exactly, just keeps trying and trying and trying. It works fine in IE. What can I do? Everything seemed fine before I upgraded to 2.0, and I've tried reinstalling Firefox. Mac OSX 10.2.8, if that matters. Obviously(?) I know very little about computers, so keep that in mind.
