1984, part two?

I'm sure most of you remember last year's Kindle debacle, when Amazon deleted copies of 1984 from users' machines. Now I've heard that Amazon can also track the highlight function, and stores the information of how users read. Is this true? Are there other Kindle-spylike things that Amazon can do/is doing?

No more Amazon downloader for me!

How can I get Amazon to give me mp3 files for single songs and amz files for albums only? Alternatively, how can I get it to go back to only giving me mp3 files (and not download albums at all)? The FAQ doesn't seem to cover it or I can't find it at least and I'm hesitant to experiment at a dollar a pop.

searching for wooden watermelons

I often find myself wanting to search sites like netflix and amazon with greater granularity than the sites currently offer. For example, I'd like to find every highly-rated thriller that takes place in another country and is available used for $5.00. Or if I'm searching netflix, I would want to find every foreign mystery that is rated at four stars or higher and is rated pg-13 or lower. Are there third-party clients or scripts that will accomplish these or similar tasks?

How To Get Amazon Book Cover Images for My Site?

I want to put some code on my site (Wordpress) displaying images of books and other Amazon products, and link the images, with my Associates key, back to Amazon. Amazon offers several ways to do this. I don't like them. A batch of WP plugins offer to do this, but the ones I've tested are all overkill, if they actually work. I can handle the code, but where do I get the images? I've seen a few sites that pull book cover images from a secure image site at Amazon. How does that work?
