I'm a 23 year old Asian-American male who sucks at drinking. I dislike alcohol, and can barely finish a beer, mostly due to hating the taste as well as my body's adverse reactions. How can I train my body to tolerate alcohol better? Could someone, for example, help me design a "training regime"? [more inside]

For the past two weeks I've been consuming large amounts of alcohol (mostly beer and wine, but also soju). After I first started drinking, I noticed a bump in a blood vessel in my right forearm. These bumps have now appeared along the rest of my forearm (that same vein). They feel like bruises. I'm pretty sure something is getting clogged up in there. I can stop drinking, but what can I do to get my blood flowing normally again? [more inside]
As we approach fall and winter, I'd like to experiment with warm or hot alcoholic drinks, and not being a fan of cloves, mulled wine is out of the picture. Any suggestions?

I'd like to halt my unhealthy (for me) pot and alcohol habit without completely swearing off either substance. Is this do-able? Are there books or Portland, Ore., groups that can help me with this? I am getting married in two weeks in the Prospect Park Picnic House in Brooklyn. My fiancee and I are providing the alcohol (two types of beer, a red wine and a white wine and a glass of champagne for a champagne toast). Does anyone have good recommendations for a local business that we can buy in bulk from and have them deliver the alcohol to the Picnic House on the day of the wedding? [more inside]
I like a whisky nightcap from time to time. Does it make sense to take a calcium / magnesium carbonate-type antacid (Rennies, Tums, Rolaids) at bedtime to neutralise the impact the whisky might have on the GI tract, even though I have no symptoms of heartburn or indigestion? I would sort of think it might make no difference at all - that these are sometimes even recommended as a dietary supplement - but I am aware that alcohol is a risk factor in upper GI cancers and I wonder if it might be a useful preventative.

I've been cooking in the backcountry for years with a pepsi-can stove (it simply provides an aerated vessel in which to ignite 75% - 99% isopropyl alcohol which you pour into it)...now recently I've noticed a distinctive, not exactly pleasant smell at the very end, when the fuel finally runs out and the flame extinguishes itself...perhaps a residual vapor is released at that point (I'm usually done cooking). SO, my question is, are dangerous gases perhaps being released? I'm wary of course of getting aluminum in my bloodstream and catching Alzheimer's, but any other dangers I should know about?
Ok I admit it, I’m a cheap drunk, a lightweight. One beer, one glass of wine, and I’m feeling good. Any more than that, even another half a beer or half a glass of wine, and I’m starting to get buzzed. So I’ve always been very careful with my drinking. I’ve never been stopped for suspected DUI, and don’t plan to be. That said, I’m curious about whether my blood alcohol level actually increases more quickly than most people, or do I just feel the effects of the alcohol more quickly without my blood alcohol level rising very much. IOW, over a period of an hour, you drink two beers, you’re not drunk, and your blood alcohol level is below the legal limit. I drink two beers in an hour, I’m pretty buzzed, enough that I would not drive. Is my blood alcohol level probably over the legal limit? If it matters, I’m a fairly normal-sized adult female, 5’5”, 120 lbs.

Is our bottle of Kahlua still good? We opened it four years ago (on St. Patrick's Day, actually) and promptly forgot about it. It's sat on a high shelf at a fairly constant temperature. It's about 80 percent full. It still smells OK. Wasn't going to taste it without input from the hive.
