As a hobby, my friends and I create alcoholic-infused cupcakes inspired by cocktails and shots. Friends, family members and relative strangers have been egging us on to start selling them. We've been reluctant to do so, for all the obvious reasons, but now we're considering a very, very small-scale word-of-mouth/online ordering business.
What do we need to know in order to avoid getting sued, fined, or going bankrupt?

I’m 35, male, and live in San Diego. I’m hoping to find a retreat (or something similar) that is not too far away, not too expensive (maybe $2,000-$3,000), and that starts as soon as possible. I have recently gone through a lot of unpleasant life changes, and have been drinking too much, too often, and for too long. My primary issue may be with alcohol, but I want to try this before I try outpatient treatment. I’m hoping to find a retreat where I can recharge and also break my drinking habit. Ideally, it would include some combination of yoga, meditation, and counseling or something directed to my drinking habit. Thanks.

I'm looking for recommendations for a gay/gay-friendly therapist in the Northern Virginia area who has experience with alcohol abuse and alcoholism. I'm attending AA meetings to help with the continuing sobriety, but I really think I would benefit from some additional therapy. Thank you. (The gay/gay-friendly is in there because I don't want any chance of homophobia or blaming my problems on being gay)

Anybody know why old-timers put black pepper in their beer? Mainly see it in 70+ war vets, but I suppose the question could apply to anybody.

Because: 1) of depression and 2) I got into relationship trouble (with my spouse) because of occasional binge drinking--- I've have had no alcohol for about 7 weeks. I've been on a mild dose of an antidepressant almost the whole time and feel a low-level, but constant, state of mild depression- kind of "zombie-like." I was hoping getting alcohol off the table would reveal "emotional issues" as to why I've enjoyed binging , but that really hasn't happened, even with therapy (about 7-8 sessions - we've just kicked around painful events that probably most people have encountered one way or another.) Soooooo, the question is: How does one define or identify "emotional issues" related to substance abuse and/or depression? (beyond therapy, eliminating substances)

Being the drunk that I am, I'm familiar enough with cocktails and hard liquor. However, I need help with my beer and wine knowledge, for working as a restaurant server. To quickly, broadly learn about beer and wine, what are my options for book-learnin', starting points, and so on? Current knowledge is basically zero.

Sometimes when I drink alcohol I get sort of an allergic reaction: skin rash (red spots on my face and shoulders) that feels a bit itchy. The first time that happened was about 2 years ago (never had that before and I'm 29 now) and now it occurs about every tenth (or so) time I drink hard liquor. It hardly ever occurs with beer or wine and it doesn't seem to be related to a certain ingredient (it happens with vodka as well as with Campari). Plus it doesn't seem to be related to the quantity of alcohol ingested. Maybe the cause is a certain kind of food in combination with alcohol? I haven't done enough "tests" to find out more.
What could that be and need I be worried?
