Chum-Churum (19.5% alcohol made from sweet potato with added sugar and hfcs).
Open, unrefrigerated bottle for 24 hours at room temperature, then refrigerated. Safe to drink?
I'm saying it's totally fine. My friend has grave doubts.

A drink a day is not bad for you and depending on what you read may be beneficial to your health. Is there anything detrimental to having this drink in the morning?

I'm having a tacotastic dinner party for my boyfriend's birthday. What's a tasty cocktail/punch recipe that goes with the fresh, rich, spicy flavors of Mexican food? Simplicity is a plus; I don't mind making flavored simple syrup or finding juices or fresh ingredients but I'd like to avoid buying 6 bottles of liquor for one drink.

Are there any accounts of cops in prohibition/depression era New York being drinkers? Would drink be widely available to the point where no one would think much of it, or would it be especially difficult for a public employee?

My 21st birthday is coming up in a few months. I would like to celebrate this with one well-crafted cocktail at a bar, but I am at a loss as to which one and where to get it. I will be spending my 21st birthday in DC while visiting my folks.

Alcoholics (of
course you aren't): Need drink ideas that fit the theme "rugged". Fewer ingredients is better, and if you've got several suggestions that all require the same base liquor, that's wonderful.

Assuming a woman has given up alcohol, to which she was strongly attached for 15 years, and has also given up cocaine and ecstasy (MDMA), which she used regularly, and she is now drink and drug free: could this past of substance-abuse affect her pregnancy in any way? And if so, what could she do to minimise the effects? For clarity: she's not pregnant at the moment, but would like to have a baby.

Trying to make a list of fictional drinks.
For instance: Clementine mixxes up a couple of "blue ruins" in
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and the Silver Jews' song
Buckingham Rabbit makes reference to "shattered dogs on the rocks."
What other fictional drinks can you think of?

We got some new stools for our IT workbench area and we were joking that we should start an "IT bar". We came up with some drink names that might fit in (or not) such as:
"USBeer", "Windows Vista Premium Lager", "Blue Motorcycle Screen of Death" and "The Rebooter".
