I'm looking for recommendations for jazz albums with a lineup similar to the one on Sonny Rollins's classic album The Bridge, which has tenor sax + guitar + bass + drums and that's it. (YouTube example.) I love how Jim Hall's guitar takes on the usual role of the piano since it's the only instrument in the ensemble that can play whole chords. [more inside]

I really like albums that seem to exist in their own little world, devoid of obvious influences - some good examples being Van Morrison's "Astral Weeks"and Talk Talk's "Spirit of Eden". What else should I check out?

Occasionally in iTunes, I'll be unable to get an album's tracks to line up in the proper order even if I've set all the track numbers properly. It occurs with albums that have been [ahem] cobbled together from various sources. [more inside]

What time are albums actually released on iTunes? The new Spoon comes out tomorrow, and I want to get it the second it's available. Is there a set time, like 12:01 am PST? Or does it just show up whenever they happen to update the store? (Yes, I realize there are, ahem, other ways to get the album, but call me old-fashioned.)

Many times a "Greatest Hits" album is released and there is an extra new song or two added as a bonus (and they're usually not very good) . . Have there ever been any of these "bonus tracks" which themselves have gone on to become a greatest hit?

Short and simple. I'm interested in finding out if there are any internet radio stations which broadcast full albums. Alternatively any free/pay services which allow you to listen online to full albums rather than just individual tracks. I'm not at this point interested in buying music just listening to it. Please bear in mind I am in the UK and services such as Rhapsody etc. aren't available here AFAIK. Many thanks.

I just heard an audio sample from a movie where one person is trying to get another to keep his albums in order. It was along the lines of "put the ____ in the ____ section and put the Rock in the Rock section, you wouldn't put Charlie Parker in the Rock section would you?" To which the reply is "I dunno." Where is this from? [more inside]

Why does the iTunes music store have partial albums that are missing only one track? That makes it outrageously expensive to buy a CD with more than 9 tracks and seems a pretty dumb business move on their part. [Specifically, I tried to buy "Sign O'The Times" after the Prince thread, and it's missing a track.]
