When I was a kid my parents had a 10 disc (or maybe five disc, 10 sides) album of the Kingston Trio that I'd love to find but I don't know the name of it. I tried to Google it, checked Amazon and iTunes, searched Craigslist, even went through the Spotify Kingston Trio discography and can't find it.
Anyone else know what it was? [more inside]

Asking for a friend who's planning to press some old recordings to vinyl. He knows that album sides can range from 15-25 (even 30) minutes, but he wants to know what the optimum is. In other words, at what point does overall sound quality suffer and/or production challenges start to occur? [more inside]

I can't for the life of me remember the name of a particular megamix/mashup album/artist. I remember that the first track sounded like it started with the helicopter sound from the beginning of one of the 'Another Brick..' tracks from Pink Floyd's 'The Wall', then it either sampled 'Little Fluffy Clouds' or used sampled the same interview. Closer to the end of the album 'Your Song' was mixed in. Any ideas? I believe the artist also had an album featuring mostly Flaming Lips mixes. Both were available free on his website.

God, how I love Roxy Music's Avalon
. Can you recommend other albums from that era that have a similar laid-back, late night glamorous feel?

Albumfilter: I seem to recall an album that had mostly a painted hand on the cover. It would have been out before 1992 (I am pretty sure I heard it around then.) For some reason I seem to remember the hand was painted red/white/blue, but I could be mistaken.
Am I hallucinating or is my memory just going?

What album cover featured notable musicians as the twelve apostles of funk, with Lionel Richie as Judas? This was described to me in the early nineties. I think it was the cover of a hip hop album. Perhaps it wasn't an album cover, but some other artwork. Google returns a couple of hits for Richie as "Judas of funk," but other searches led nowhere.

As a 10 year old child I went with my mother, myself and my 7 year old brother went to EJ Korvette's on 46th Street to meet an alien. Well, actually it was Leonard Nimoy (in full makeup and costume) as Mr. Spock. It was 1969 and he had just come out with his new album Mr Spock's Music From Outer Space.
We were in a crush of people. My brother was having trouble with the crowd. The store was packed. Finally my mother snapped and dragged us out of the store screaming, "My son is suffocating, get out of the way!"
Anyway, after hysteria by yours truly, we went back. The crowd was gone. Someone took the album from my hands and sliced the covering plastic with a razor. I didn't care. I was looking up at Mister SPOCK from my favoite show of all times!
I wanted to say something, anything. But my throat was dry. My brain useless. He signed the album. He signed it... Spock in cursive.
I still have this album today.
Is it worth anything? Other than my memories and the original price? Leonard. I love your photos. Call me...

My dad has many boxes of the photographs he took during college 30 years ago. After completing my freshman year, I have equally as many digital pictures saved on my computer. While I would love to make 1500 prints, that isn't very plausible. What's the best way to preserve these pictures and make them easily accessible and viewable in the future? (I might be able to choose 200 or so to make the most accessible and viewable.)
