For some unfathomable reason, I haven't been able to find a single iphone app that will allow me to play a podcast as a wake-up alarm. Surely, SURELY, this incredibly basic functionality must be available SOMEWHERE. Yes I have seen this question, the app marked as 'best answer' no longer exists. [more inside]
I am the world's heaviest sleeper, while my housemate is the world's lightest. I need an alarm that will wake me up, but not him. [more inside]
I'd like to be able to listen to NPR Morning Edition seamlessly as I walk around the house in the morning and I don't want to wear headphones. Thus I am looking for a clock radio that a) gets good radio reception, b) can be programmed to automatically switch on at 7am and off at 9am, and c) is relatively inexpensive so I can afford one for each room (I'll need about five, I think). Any recommendations? Thanks!
So our trusty Timex T715 clock radio is succumbing to dementia. It's powering up LED segments inappropriately, spontaneously resetting itself to 12:00, failing to go off when it's supposed to. Basically, it's time for it to go to a farm run by a nice elderly couple who have lots of other clocks for it to play with. No worries, I figured. Just go online and buy another one. Heh. Right. Can you help, hive mind? [more inside]
We've used one of these Timex Indiglo Alarm Clocks for many years, but ours seems to have developed an issue (alarm is on at the same time as the snooze is, so the alarm never goes off) and needs to be replaced. [more inside]
We really need a good system and/or a really reliable alarm clock! My husband has turned his off twice when he's never done it before! [more inside]

So after dropping my beloved alarm clock on the floor one too many times, it has started buzzing, quietly, but enough that my sanity is starting to disappear. Problem is that I love this one, even with the crappy radio part, and it's no longer being made. Can you help me find a new, just as good, if not better option? My husband's and my continued employment appreciate it! [more inside]
It would make me so happy to wake up to podcasts in the morning. Do you do this? How? It seems easy enough, but I can't figure out how to configure my iPhone (iOS 7) alarm to play podcasts. The current options it gives me are ringtones or an iTunes song. Is this simply the matter of finding the right app? Thanks!!
Live-in boyfriend and I are on completely different schedules, and he requires lots of loud alarms to wake up. But they wake me up, too. [more inside]
I am looking for a mythological perfect alarm clock that clearly does not exist in this reality. So I'm hoping you folks can help me find one that is as close as possible. This is my current clock which I've been pretty happy with, but the current version appears to be garbage, according to reviews. Requirements inside. [more inside]
I'm strongly considering buying a Jawbone UP24 or FitBit Force specifically for the alarm/sleep tracking functions. Does anyone have any experience with either product for that purpose? Is there something else that would meet my needs better? [more inside]
I'm having a tough time finding an alarm clock with a pure red light digital display that can hold a radio station in tune or otherwise play a pleasant sound, with a large snooze button. The better quality ones are in the blue light spectrum. Since exposure to blue light is related to age-related macular degeneration and sleep disturbance, I'd prefer looking at only red light in the dark. I also tried an alarm clock app for my phone, but the red light option is stylized so not really red light only. So, can anyone recommend a good quality red light alarm clock?
I'm looking for a sub-$200 Android phone to act as an alarm clock. The four needs: OLED display, can be horizontally docked, the power and volume buttons are on the "top" of the phone when horizontally docked, and it needs to be able to run Android 4.2.2+ (even if I have to root it). It looks like a used HTC One S will work, but they're still pretty expensive, and I'd like to explore cheaper options. Thoughts? [more inside]
So we had the Motorola Electrify 2 and I loved this phone because it had a preloaded Alarm/Timer app. This was the best alarm clock because A. it had a nice pleasant sound B. It has a progressive ring, it slowly got louder- so it was gentle on waking. C. If you hit snooze three times the alarm clock doesn't just disappear and stop going off. BF "upgraded" us to the new "better" phones and I over slept again, I need that app! Any suggestions. thanks!
I want to buy a new alarm clock radio for my bedside table as the old one keeps gaining four hours or so overnight. However when I look for one, I'm presented with your basic model ugly modern electronics, and I have a Art Nouveau theme going on in my house. Can anyone help me find an alarm clock that will not look so absurdly out of place sitting next to my brass lampshade with the stained glass shade? I know there are brass alarm clocks, which would work aesthetically, but I can't bear to be woken up by an alarm, so while I don't have to have a radio alarm clock I do need an alarm that won't make me hurl the clock across the room, such as something musical. I also want to be able to see the time in the dark. And no I don't have a watch with an alarm or a cellphone, and I'm not interested in getting either. Ideas?
I'm looking for a pretty cheap digital watch that has an alarm that will actually wake me up. [more inside]

iMy husband's iPhone 3GS does not work with our ICF-CD3iPSIL Sony clock alarm...but my iPhone 3G works just fine. Why? Details: His iPhone charges just fine when it's in the clock alarm dock, but we cannot control it via remote control or the buttons on the alarm clock. Also, his iPhone won't play music through the alarm speakers, though it will play it fine through the phone speakers. My older-generation 3G does all of those things. I compared iPhone settings, and everything seems the same. Can you help? Thanks so much!
Recommend a kick-ass alarm clock that: doesn't use batteries, has a not-unpleasant alarm sound, looks not-ugly and is under $30. [more inside]

How can I have my alarm clock near my bed even though there's not enough room for a nightstand and I can't make holes in the wall for shelves? There's a chest of drawers on one side of the bed but it is too tall to reach the alarm clock from on top. The other side of the bed is bordering the wall. Are there shelves without permanent mounting hardware that work? I have a usable wall corner. Maybe a super duper skinny nightstand out there somewhere? Use the headboard somehow?

Every morning, my cat decides I need to get up at 6:30AM, and proceeds to put his paw under my door and claw the hell out of it. Between the scratching noise and the fact that the door rattles in its jamb, it's been getting me up well before I am ready. This has thrown off my sleeping pattern tremendously, and I want it stopped. It's not a case of needing to go to the bathroom or wanting food, so I'm at a loss. How can I stop my cat?
