Live-in boyfriend and I are on completely different schedules, and he requires lots of loud alarms to wake up. But they wake me up, too. [more inside]
I am looking for a mythological perfect alarm clock that clearly does not exist in this reality. So I'm hoping you folks can help me find one that is as close as possible. This is my current clock which I've been pretty happy with, but the current version appears to be garbage, according to reviews. Requirements inside. [more inside]
I'm strongly considering buying a Jawbone UP24 or FitBit Force specifically for the alarm/sleep tracking functions. Does anyone have any experience with either product for that purpose? Is there something else that would meet my needs better? [more inside]
I'm having a tough time finding an alarm clock with a pure red light digital display that can hold a radio station in tune or otherwise play a pleasant sound, with a large snooze button. The better quality ones are in the blue light spectrum. Since exposure to blue light is related to age-related macular degeneration and sleep disturbance, I'd prefer looking at only red light in the dark. I also tried an alarm clock app for my phone, but the red light option is stylized so not really red light only. So, can anyone recommend a good quality red light alarm clock?
I'm looking for a sub-$200 Android phone to act as an alarm clock. The four needs: OLED display, can be horizontally docked, the power and volume buttons are on the "top" of the phone when horizontally docked, and it needs to be able to run Android 4.2.2+ (even if I have to root it). It looks like a used HTC One S will work, but they're still pretty expensive, and I'd like to explore cheaper options. Thoughts? [more inside]
So we had the Motorola Electrify 2 and I loved this phone because it had a preloaded Alarm/Timer app. This was the best alarm clock because A. it had a nice pleasant sound B. It has a progressive ring, it slowly got louder- so it was gentle on waking. C. If you hit snooze three times the alarm clock doesn't just disappear and stop going off. BF "upgraded" us to the new "better" phones and I over slept again, I need that app! Any suggestions. thanks!
I want to buy a new alarm clock radio for my bedside table as the old one keeps gaining four hours or so overnight. However when I look for one, I'm presented with your basic model ugly modern electronics, and I have a Art Nouveau theme going on in my house. Can anyone help me find an alarm clock that will not look so absurdly out of place sitting next to my brass lampshade with the stained glass shade? I know there are brass alarm clocks, which would work aesthetically, but I can't bear to be woken up by an alarm, so while I don't have to have a radio alarm clock I do need an alarm that won't make me hurl the clock across the room, such as something musical. I also want to be able to see the time in the dark. And no I don't have a watch with an alarm or a cellphone, and I'm not interested in getting either. Ideas?
I'm looking for a pretty cheap digital watch that has an alarm that will actually wake me up. [more inside]

iMy husband's iPhone 3GS does not work with our ICF-CD3iPSIL Sony clock alarm...but my iPhone 3G works just fine. Why? Details: His iPhone charges just fine when it's in the clock alarm dock, but we cannot control it via remote control or the buttons on the alarm clock. Also, his iPhone won't play music through the alarm speakers, though it will play it fine through the phone speakers. My older-generation 3G does all of those things. I compared iPhone settings, and everything seems the same. Can you help? Thanks so much!
Recommend a kick-ass alarm clock that: doesn't use batteries, has a not-unpleasant alarm sound, looks not-ugly and is under $30. [more inside]

How can I have my alarm clock near my bed even though there's not enough room for a nightstand and I can't make holes in the wall for shelves? There's a chest of drawers on one side of the bed but it is too tall to reach the alarm clock from on top. The other side of the bed is bordering the wall. Are there shelves without permanent mounting hardware that work? I have a usable wall corner. Maybe a super duper skinny nightstand out there somewhere? Use the headboard somehow?

Every morning, my cat decides I need to get up at 6:30AM, and proceeds to put his paw under my door and claw the hell out of it. Between the scratching noise and the fact that the door rattles in its jamb, it's been getting me up well before I am ready. This has thrown off my sleeping pattern tremendously, and I want it stopped. It's not a case of needing to go to the bathroom or wanting food, so I'm at a loss. How can I stop my cat?

I'm having a bit harder time adjusting to winter in the pacific northwest than I initially thought I would. It's not the rain so much as the shorter days -- I find I really have a hard time getting out of bed in the mornings, even when I get a full 8 hours the night before. I'm investigating something like a progressive wake up alarm clock, which is supposed to simulate sunrise. Anyone used anything like this? Are they worth the $50? Is there someplace other than Hammacher-Schlemmer to pick one up?
