I have a round trip flight later this year on US Airways that has a layover in Phoenix and then continues to Las Vegas. It turns out that it would work out better for me to just leave the Phoenix airport instead of going on. My return flight would be unchanged ( leaving from Las Vegas ).
If I do this ( intentionally miss the second hop of my flight ) will I have problems later? I'm concerned about the possibility that the airline might cancel my return flight or something else along those lines.
If you have done this kind of thing (especially on US Airways) please let me know how things went. Thank you.

I will be traveling in mid-December as a woman alone and have a 7-1/2 hour layover in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I arrive at 4:30 pm and depart after midnight. Any suggestions for something safe to do to pass the time, (a tour is probably unlikely that late in the day) or a nearby and safe hotel to spend the time? I hate the idea of just sitting all night in an airport.

I'll be taking a business trip in a few weeks and I have a 6 hour layover in the Denver airport. What are my options? I've heard the airport might be too far away from the city for any real excursion. Is there anything worthwhile INSIDE the airport? NEAR the airport? Or do I just need a good book and a cup of coffee?

We're going to be hiking to Everest Base Camp and right now we're trying to figure out the logistics of our very long commute. We're traveling to Nepal from the US, and will be landing in Delhi on October 9th around 9 PM. Our flight to Kathmandu leaves the next day at at 3 PM. Is it safe and/or reasonable to stay the night in the Delhi airport? Or would it be easier to book a hotel or homestay in the area?

My brother is taking a cheap flight from England to visit us in Seattle, which has a stop in Vancouver (YVR) for six hours. Is there anything taht can be done within that time that's worth doing? Would it actually be possible to get out of the airport? Or should I just tell him to bring a book?

My wife's stuck in the Atlanta airport due to a missed flight (weather-related) and now the airport's closed (weather-related). Looks like she won't get a flight here to Tampa until 7:00 am. I hate that she's going to have such a miserable night. What can I do to make her more comfortable?

In general, how long must a layover at an airport be to be able to leave the airport, see the city (even for a short amount of time), and get back without missing your connecting flight?

I have 11 hours in Newark on the 6th. It's a layover, I have no contacts in the immediate area and although
things are getting better, I would like a nice diversion that is not in the airport or Newark itself. Suggs?
And yes, I'm looking at you amberglow.
