How to get cheap flights within Asia, specifically between China and Vietnam?

How to get cheap flights within Asia, specifically between China and Vietnam? On behalf of a friend: if you were in Beijing, where would you go to get cheap flights to Vietnam? My friend is under 26 and a student, if that helps, and needs a return flight Beijing-Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) in October.

Travelling with Swine flu risks: Safety vs Bargain

Safety and budget -wise, should I buy a heavily discounted ticket now to SE Asia in January 2010? More details inside... Hi guys!

I am calling on the powers of mefi to help me in a time of swine flu fear...

I am afraid of the Swine flu getting worse and I hear it's pretty serious in those hot tropical countries.

While at the same time I would like to know whether there would be cheap flight deals leading up to Jan next year, based on historical trends. Any bargain travel shoppers here who can speak from experience?

If it is unlikely, I will have to just take up the bargain and hope that Swine flu doesn't get too bad in around 5 months time!
If likely, I will play the pragmatist and just wait it out a little more for the next hot airfare deal.

Many thanks.

Help Me Find Best Airfares Belfast to Malaga

What are the most economical airlines for flights from Belfast, Ireland to Malaga, Spain? I am trying to make sure I get the best fare from Belfast, Ireland to Malaga, Spain for (outbound, late July; inbound early August). So far, the best fare seems to be EasyJet....am being quoted £465 for 2 adults (includes 1 hold baggage per person; speedy boarding as I am told that "it's a mess" trying to check-in and board; and travel insurance).

Question - since I am familiar with American carriers airlines and not European carriers - am I missing major search engines or European carriers on which I could get a better deal? Other ideas? I think the EasyJet quote is not bad considering it's high season, but I want to make sure I'm not missing out on anything.

Thanks, mefites...hoping to book in the next day or two at the latest.

Is there a "sweet spot" for airfares to Europe? I'd like to take a trip to Paris in April; right now nonstop fares are at about 800-1000 USD. Any chance they'll go down in February? What's the trend on this?

What's the best way to find cheap flights (Harrisburg, PA to San Jose or San Francisco, CA) for this weekend? I know about Priceline, but would prefer to at least have some say in what times my flights are. Orbitz, Expedia, etc. are all showing really expensive fares.

Cheapest way from NYC or DC to Managua, Nicaragua?

I'm going to Nicaragua this summer for the entire summer, and I'm looking for the cheapest way to get there from NYC or DC, to Managua. I'll leave near the end of May and return mid-August. Besides Expedia and the usual set of online price comparison engines, is there a good source for cheap fares abroad? (are there student discount places?)

Questions about flying to Tokyo from London

Questions about flying to Tokyo from London this summer (more inside) My girlfriend wants to go to Tokyo at the very end of August. She's a bit confused about the plane fares though.

If we look for a flight, and type in the actual dates she's going (29 August - 12 September), the prices come out as like, £800 return (about $1500). However, if we type in a date that's like 2 weeks in the future, there's prices from about £350 (about $600) upwards.

Is this because the prices are cheaper the later you book? Or is it because prices are higher in the summer peak months?

What price did you pay for a long haul return trip to Tokyo?

Thanks
