My husband and I and my college-age son are contemplating a trip to Europe this summer. If we want to fly together, is there no possibility that my son can get a student fare, or do student fares only apply to special flights? I'm thinking of NYC to Paris, Paris to Barcelona, and then Barcelona back to New York, for a total vacation time of around 2 weeks. Any help in getting cheap(er) flights appreciated. Need help finding the right air conditioner. My son cannot find a window unit for his apartment - the window is a bizarre 15.25" wide, 11" high. According to calculations, he should need something that pushes out no more than 6,000 BTUs, but his current portable is rated at 8,000 BTUs and is still not cooling off the room. The brand name is "Roam-Air" an older machine my husband took from a building that was closing down. My son lives in Queens and it's HOT....any suggestions?

Blowing Hot Air About Cold Air: Reviews of portable air conditioning units are rather vague about how loud they are. There are a few that advertise "library quiet", but I'm not so sure.
