Help us find a sofa bed in NYC

We're in the process of relocating to New York and need help finding a great sofa bed for all of our impending visitors! Mr Hibbersk is currently there organizing our apartment in Brooklyn and we had planned to buy this sofa bed from Ikea - however it is out of stock across the entire country and they don't know when it will be available (something about factory relocations and shortages). We don't really like any of the alternatives available at Ikea, and department stores such as Macy's seem a bit over-budget. Googling mainly finds dubious-looking clearance or discount places. Can anyone recommend a furniture store in NYC where we can get a sofa bed for around $800? Preferably modern/Scandinavian design, and not a futon. We may only be there for a couple of years so don't want to spend too much, and the bed bug horror stories have put us off buying 2nd hand/craigslist.

Bed for a nomadic lifestyle?

I'm about to embark on a nomadic lifestyle for, I believe, a few years. I will be spending in the neighborhood of 3-6 months at a time in various places, renting rooms, subletting, etc. What do I do about a bed? Maybe some of the places I stay will be furnished, but some will likely not. I know I could go the futon or Aerobed route, but both sound a bit uncomfortable for my 34-year-old body. Also, if I should ever have a lady over (hey, it could happen...maybe), futon kinda screams "college dropout" a little louder than I would like; An Aerobed even moreso.

So, any alternatives?

I need to find a queen sized Aerobed (or equivelent) by in midtown Manhattan by 1 p.m. I'd prefer not to go to the Penn Station K-Mart, and Bed Bath and Beyond on 6th Ave doesn't seem to have what I'm looking for.

aero and air mattress questions

So are the vaunted Aero beds as wonderful and more comfortable than regular air mattresses as (some) people say they are? The reviews are decidedly tilted in one direction (omgbestairmattressEVAR!) or the other (leakyleakyBAD!). I was hoping to get some more constructive feedback, or find out if there was a less costly alternative. Thanks.
