So I'm heading to the island of Ios with friends in late august. Our plans mostly involve drinking and beaches, but I'm wondering what I should check out before/after the island, in Athens or otherwise on the mainland. Bonus points for interesting things that aren't complete tourist traps, of course - I'm naturally going to go see the Acropolis, and am resigned to the multi-hour line-up for it, but would rather avoid such for anything else.
Also I'm going through the Pimsleur Greek course, so Greek-only attractions will (hopefully) be fine by the time I get there.
And, naturally, I'd be pretty psyched to meet any MeFi people on Ios or the mainland. I promise I'm not crazy!

What kind of adventure can I have in a week and a half this September or August?
I have about a week and a half of vacation that I have to burn before the end of September and would like any suggestions the hive mind can offer. I'm looking for some sort of cool festivals, experiences or week-long trips that I can take to use this time and have a good adventure (or two).

So I'm going to Italy for a class and then I'm planing on traveling around for a little while afterwords in the month of August. I'll probably stay mainly in Italy, but I would like to go to Greece and maybe visit my cousins in France. I've never done something like this so I really could use some help with my trip. Is there some guide for people for backpacking in Europe? What are just some overall recommendations on traveling like this?

Should I start a photo retouching business? My wife asked me to take a head shot of her with my digital camera. She wasn't happy with the result. I said, "I'll bet someone on the Web does quickie retouching for 20 bucks." But Google turned up no such service. Should I start one? And how would you market it?

Advice: Do I move to Colorado?
My wife and I live in Boston. She is going to change jobs. I have a good job. Almost all of our college friends live nearby. We are very happy.
However, we feel like we'd really like to move out west, where some other friends and family are, just to try something new.
I'd rate Boston an 8/10, and my Job here is an 8/10.
Colorado would be a 10/10 location. I don't know if I could find an 8/10 job out there...
So the question is: "Is it worth sacrificing a good job for perfect location?"
(I know every locale has its warts, but I've wanted to live in CO since I was about 5, and visit about 3 times/year already).
Thanks for the advice!
